Chapter 1: Jax “Ragatha!”I called, my eyes scanning the main area of the circus. “I have a nice little centipede for you!” “What a coincidence!”Ragatha’s voice said behind me. “I just happen to have some corn on me!” My eyes widened. I shook my head and grinned, turning towards her. “What does that have to do with anything?” Ragatha smiled. “Just a reminder!” “R-reminder.”My smile faltered. “Mhm!”Ragatha said. “Anyways, you were saying?” “Uh…”I blinked. “Mhm?” Then I kissed her. “Uh-”Ragatha did it back. It seemed like forever before I pulled away. “U-uh…sorry.” “Shut it!”She pulled me towards her. I spotted Lark out of the corner of my eye. His pure white eyes widened and he stepped back. “Uh…” I backed away from Ragatha. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” Lark didn’t say anything, just backed away. “You saw nothing, okay?”I told him. He turned and ran. “I hope he doesn’t say anything.”I said to Ragatha. “Me too…”She replied. I sighed. “Well,” “I heard they’re planning on getting out,”Ragatha said. “Get…out?” “Of the circus.” “Really…?”I responded, unsure. “Apparently we’re having a meeting to discuss.” “Let's go then!”I felt excited for the first time in a while. Ragatha tilted her head and stared at me. “It’s in a little bit.” My excitement died. “Ok…” “We should head over soon.” “Yeah.”I looked away. “It says it’s over here…”Ragatha led me towards the hallway with our rooms, her eyes glued to the map. She stopped by her door. “Wha-” I laughed. Ragatha slowly pulled out the corn. “Dude, come on.”I sighed. “Just a reminder.”She smiled. “You keep saying that-”She cut me off by putting her fingers over my mouth. “Just shut up!”She muttered. I blushed but didn’t say anything more. She removed her fingers and pulled out a phone-like object. “What’s that?”I asked. “Something.”She stared at it for a long moment. “They post-postponed the meeting ‘till tomorrow.” “Are you serious?”I groaned. “Yeah.”She sighed. “Now I'm gonna be worrying about it for another twenty-four hours.” “They gave me some details on the plan.”She scrolled through the phone-like object. “It’s buried in here somewhere.” “Take your time, Dollface.” “Something about an escape glitch to take the headset off…” “I’ll believe it when I see it.”I rolled my eyes. “You hopefully will tomorrow,”Ragatha said, still distracted. “Hopefully…” She nodded. “So what should we do to pass the time?”I asked, grinning. Ragatha opened her mouth to reply but got interrupted by a ping. “Aw, great.” “What is it?” “Now they’re saying they might post-pone it ‘till later this week!” “More time for you and me love.” She smiled dryly. “Sure.” “Heh, anyways.”My eyes traveled to Pomni’s door. “What do you want to do?”Ragatha asked, bringing my attention back to her. “I don’t know.” “Me neither.”She shrugged. “Why don’t we go to my room and have some fun ay?” “Sure.”She slipped the corn down the back of my shirt. “Race ya!” “Ah! Not again!”I struggled to get it out. She laughed, speeding down the hallway. I ran after her. She ran into my room and slammed the door. “Ha! You can’t stay there forever!”I called. “I can stay long enough!”She yelled back. “You can try.”I tapped my foot impatiently. I heard something light fall on the floor. Almost like she was setting corn in my room. My eyes widened. “DON’T YOU DARE!” She opened the door. My room looked the same as it did when she entered. “I don’t.” I sighed with relief. “What do you want to do now?” “I think you know.” She blushed. “What do you mean?” I laughed and smiled. “Fine!”She kissed me, then pulled away. “What next?” “Wanna bother one of the other members?”I looked at Pomni’s door again. “Sure,”she replied. “Who?”I grabbed a nuclear war head from my room. “You choose.” “Hm…”I grinned. “What about Pomni?” “Sure. Don’t go too hard though.”She warned. “I won’t!” “Alright, then.” “Lead the way!”I told her. She walked towards Pomni’s room. I followed her. Ragatha stopped at Pomni’s door. I grabbed the key and unlocked it. Ragatha watched me silently. I walked into the room with her close behind. “Oh…uh-” “What?” “This place is a mess!”I picked up some sort of object, studied it, then tossed it across the room. “Oh…”She looked over my shoulder. “Yeah.” “Wow that’s terrible.” “Maybe we can clean it while we’re here.”I stepped over a pile of random objects and walked to Pomni’s bed. “Yeah.”Ragatha tried to follow me, stepping over things carefully. “You can clean it!”I grinned. She sighed.
