Chapter 3:Jax I twisted the handle pushed open the door. The room was dark, the only light coming from a lit fireplace. “Hello.”A voice came through speakers lining the walls. “Uh hi.”I said nervously. “I assume you’re interested about getting out.”The voice said. “Sit.” “Uh ok..”Ragatha sat down in one of the giant chairs near the fireplace. I sat in the other one. Lark peaked his head through the door. “Is this where the meeting is?” “Yep.”I sighed, gesturing to a seat. “Great.”He sat down. “So…now what?”I stared at the speakers. “I suppose we can start.”The voice replied. “Great.”I muttered. “Need I explain the glitch?”The voice asked. “Glitch?”I blinked. “To get the headset off.”The voice responded impatiently. “Oh. Right.” “We have discovered a glitch in the coding, a lag.”The voice explained. “Well, how do we get out?” “This sounds ridiculous but…you have to run in circles.” “What…?”Lark blinked in surprise. Even Ragatha kind of laughed. “[boink] this.”I stood up. “Shut up.”Ragatha snapped at me. “If this is how we’re doing this, I don’t want to do it!” Ragatha punched me in the stomach. “Just listen.” I groaned and sunk back into my chair. A shape in the shadows nearest to the door moved. “What was that?”I whispered. “It’s them. It’s fine.”Ragatha whispered back. “Who’s them?” Ragatha gestured at the speakers. “The person who was just speaking!” Then they stepped from the shadows. They were a dark figure with glowing white eyes that look like fire. It looked the most human out of all of us. “W-what the-”I tried to get as far away from it as I could. They did the glitch, running around the room three times, then disappeared. I blinked in surprise. “W-what the…?” “Looks like it worked.”Said Lark. “You do it then.”I crossed my arms. “Nah you do it. I have to tell Aingei about this before I leave.”Lark stood up. Ragatha watched him silently. “I-I’ll go with you.” “Ok. Good.” She grabbed my hand. I tightened my grip on it. We started doing the glitch. Ragatha flickered then disappeared. I glanced at the room one more time before there was darkness.
