a direct explanation from @lilystaryay : Moonshine is a starry, light place, with forests, caves, tunnels, Moors, and rivers. It is always a nice, warm temp, with a slight cool breeze. Moonshine cats can dream visit anyone, and often appear as themselves when they were alive, but with moonlight in their fur, and their eyes have moons. The meds go to the Moontree, a big willow tree in the heart of LilyClan territory. It has a hole in the middle, and in that hole is a crystal shaped like a moon. Meds sleep on/by it to visit Moonshine and a Moonshine cat will appear. It does not have to be night or day for it to work. The DF LC if called The Moonless Blaze, and is a fiery, stressful place to be. It has air that smells like twoleg gas, random sparks that hit you, and is set up to that it is always hot. It's basically dark forest for LC.
