OOOF the cover art sucks here but the next one will be good, trust me on that. I already have the drawing. I mean, I guess it doesn't matter since hardly anybody reads this at all, but I still want it to be good for the people that DO read it, including you, hypothetical reader. Shadow looked carefully at Sonic. Nobody else noticed, but Shadow could tell when someone was crying and hiding it. He knew that much after everything. It was right then he realized that Sonic must have been bullied too. :Must have given him the infamous swirler dunk with how Sonic came out… those bayustards. I can't imagine what they'd do with young Tails then…: Shadow clenched his fist at all the possibilities in rage. It was then he realized the strange glowing orange energy starting to crackle through his hand. He quickly tried to calm down, unclenching his fist and thinking about vast meadows. To his relief, it dissipated quickly and nobody saw the ordeal. Shadow didn't understand this.. power. He knew it was incredibly potent, as seen with his attackers last night, but he couldn't control it well enough. Every time he got angry, the energy bolts crackled through his veins. He had to clench his teeth and try to mitigate the anger to hide it. Shadow sure hoped he wouldn't get bullied for now (or ever), God forbid the teachers suddenly regain sight of the sharpness of an eagle right when he defends himself. And with powers even he didn't understand? Not a good look at all. But it would happen either way, eventually. These kids’ parents paid for the school, so they got away scot-free with essentially everything. Such losers. It seemed like a blink before more than half the students left the cafeteria and Amy nudged him. She reached out a hand and Shadow didn't take it, instead settling for a curt nod. Amy seemed nice, but he simply didn’t want to interact. - END OF SCHOOL DAY As Shadow walked past the school clubs when school was out, he heard yelling. He peered in the window and saw 2 figures, one male, one female, arguing. The female bat had a hot pink puffer jacket and magenta lipstick, and when she stomped, her white heel boots made a small squeak. She yelled, “Knuckles, don't do this! Ever since you've played sports, you've been acting like a jerk!” Shadow recognized the red echidna “Knuckles” as one of the Jocks who pick on everybody smaller than him. His mitts were comically huge. Knuckles groaned. “Of course you don't understand because you're a girl!” “Now that's se*ist!” “Oh yeah Rouge! Just because you're a girl! No! It's everything else!” “Alright. Guess it'll be better for both of us if I leave then.” “It WOULD!” Rouge stomped out and slammed the door. Shadow jumped out of the way just in time. Rouge noticed him and waved. “Hey hun!” Shadow slightly widened his eyes, taken aback by how fast her mood changed. The bat continued. “Haven't seen you here before. Who are you?” “Oh, me? I'm.. Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog. You?” “Rouge the Bat,” she said, flexing her wings. Somehow, it sounded like she was always flirting. It sorta weirded Shadow out, but he masked it well. “So, hun, what're you doin’ here?” “Ahh, looking for clubs,” he lied. “Oh! You seem like you'd like the poetry club!” She mentioned it earnestly. “How.. how did you know??” “It was nothin’, hun. I just hacked into the school files of every student to recommend the right clubs!” Shadow hid a smirk at how ridiculous yet genius that was. Then he checked the clock above him. “Oh damn! Gotta go!” Rouge pressed a paper to his hand, a number, and winked. “Hit me up if ya wanna be in a club. I'm the director. And don't be afraid to call if you need someone to talk to!” She waved as Shadow sprinted away, the latter not having the heart and energy to tell her he didn't have a phone.
