Arise, Soultorn, and reclaim what has been taken… You are a Soulless - a being denied access to both life and afterlife. With no true purpose, you awaken in a decaying world centered around the mysterious Ethereal Scar, a vast wound in reality severing the realms of the living and the dead. Your journey follows your search for meaning: to reclaim your soul. Welcome to the Reckoning Of The Soulless! This game is a dark fantasy, metroidvania-like game, with fast, lifesteal-based combat and a dark, emotional story. All music and art is handcrafted by me to create a memorable, immersive world. If you like Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, or Elden Ring, you'll like this game. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you play it fullscreen, on Turbowarp. This game is massive, with over 21.5k blocks and thousands of costumes, and will take some time to load. Reading the description is a good pastime, as it contains extremely useful information. Link here: https://turbowarp.org/1277641835 If you wanna help me further, you could also check it out on Itch.io 9 months in development. Almost 3 years since conceptualization. My masterpiece... complete. Featuring over 120 unique areas, 20 songs composed by me, 15 enemy types, 7 bosses, a saving system, and 4 different endings, the average playthrough make take around 90 minutes to 2 hours. For a completionist, by loading save codes, you can pretty easily see all endings without having to do much replaying. Though it is complete, I reached the project file size limit multiple times nearing the end of development, meaning unfortunately, Cradlewatch Keep and the associated boss and quest were cut from the final game. Perhaps in a post-release update we may see my full vision. This game is HARD. Expect to die frequently. Your main growth will come from knowledge: running past enemies may seem good in the short term, but once you reach a mandatory gauntlet or boss, you'll struggle much more than if you learned how they work. Things share attacks, meaning learning one enemy's attack may help you for a boss later on. There is an Merciful mode, however, which increases your strikeback window to recover health and removes the death punishment. If you are struggling too much on Standard or wish for a more stress free experience, simply save the game, press the flag, swap the difficulty, and load it. If you are a speedrunner, or simply don't care much for dialogue, you can press G to change the text speed, allowing you to skim through text faster. The instructions are contained entirely within game, and can be referenced any time at a checkpoint. The only thing not mentioned is that you can press T to respawn in case you get stuck somehow. Credits are also contained in game, but some credits are listed below. Tips: -Learn the combat system early. It's much better to die to the first few enemies a few times than to the first boss twenty times. -Utilize your Soul-Born abilities. If you are stuck on a boss, try swapping out your ability. -After obtaining your 3rd new Soul Fragment, utilize the movement ability you get shortly after to navigate up, as there is an important damage upgrade. It's not super hidden, so must people should find it no problem. -Doing morally good things will help you. Helping NPCS, etc, can give you valuable boosts. -NPCS will have an exclamation mark above their head when they have a new quest for you. I sincerely hope you enjoy your journey through Reckoning Of The Soulless.
