chapter 10: The sound of wood on wood echoed throughout the arena, there were two shadows of Nayra and Kyle launching themselves at each other shown on the ground under the hot, harsh light of the afternoon sun. Both were giving their all, Kyle was on the offensive, striking Nayra’s sword and trying to tap his sword (as gently as he could) on Nayra’s chest (since that was how he would win). But he never got that close because Nayra suddenly switched positions and started attacking him left, right and centre- it was scarily impressive. I guess having Link- the most famous swordsman ever- as a father has its perks. Finally Nayra managed to sweep Kyle’s legs with the flat of her sword and he hit the dusty ground. She lay the tip of her sword gently on his sternum and smiled down at him ‘I win!’ she said gleefully, and joined him on the floor, both of them breathing heavily. She turned to look at him and Kyle realised just how beautiful Nayra was, even with her hair slightly sticking to her sweaty forehead, she was effortlessly, naturally gorgeous. She had deep turquoise eyes, dappled with dark emerald stripes and little shimmers of blue, pupils wide with joy and adrenaline. A laugh bubbled up from inside her as she realised she’d actually beaten a fully trained Sheikah guard. ‘I can’t really believe I just did that!’ she said in disbelief, ‘Haha, I can- you’re so much stronger than you think’ Kyle said, smiling softly. ‘Thanks’ Nayra replied, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks, ‘You too’ Her grin got even wider, and it made Kyle even happier too- her positive energy was infectious. They gazed at the sky for a while, watching fluffy clouds drift by sleepily, each lost in their own daydreams-together. Kyle’s hand crept ever closer to Nayra’s and eventually he placed his little finger on top of her one. Fireworks went off in their heads as they turned to each other. Then, without even thinking- Kyle kissed her. Her pink lips were soft and she smelled like fresh daisies on a perfect summer's day. He pulled back, afraid he’d overstepped her boundaries when suddenly, she kissed him back, her other hand coming to rest on the back of his neck, cradling his lower cheek and jaw with her thumb. It was gentle and special, a tender moment shared between two teenagers, both with a lost youth and both who realised, perhaps they weren’t as alone as they thought. <3 hehhehheh this one is one of my favsss ;3 chapter nine: chapter eleven:
