recently, gelidchaser was a part of the patrol that confronted maleficentstar. during the skirmish, he attacked auklet and accidentally ki//ed aer. it haunts him, the rage he felt and the action itself, and will deeply affect how he sees the world for the rest of his life. because that event was so recent when the kits are found, eli is still reeling from the storm of emotions broiling inside of him. he will keep them in camp with either his father, requiemdawn, or his sister, ebonyshroud for the first three moons of their lives. he will attempt to find their birth parents to no avail during that time, assuming the nearly newborn kittens had to have been born recently enough to have parents roaming riverclan territory, in which he is mostly absent from their lives. but when their parents are nowhere to be found, gelidchaser will come back and begin to raise them himself. he does feel immense guilt from his actions in thunderclan as well as not being able to find his children's parents. which means for the majority of their younger moons, eli will be very overprotective and will smother the four kits with love while also being quiet about his own feelings. this, of course, will eventually change, and eli will encourage open communication between all five of them about anything on their minds. as for his actual parenting style; gelidchaser will encourage his children to harbor an adoration for every ripple in the water, every gust of wind, every rumble of the ground, every flicker of light. he will treat the kits with even more adoration than he gives his beloved stars, and will be very physically affectionate with them. he is also a very religious cat towards starclan. his daily routine consists of a morning prayer, his clan tasks, physical activities, a break, and then a nightly prayer. he will teach his children to have the same structure; he does not care what particularly they do in that routine, but more that they have one. something gelidchaser will implement into their lives once they grow into apprentices will be the exploration of land far and wide; it’s how he found them, after all. (cw is storm) he often goes on runs throughout shadowclan territory and will encourage his children to come with him as often as possible. he will also often invite their godfather, cradlecherish, along on these runs. eli expects that the kits will treat cher with the same respect and affection that they would him. back to litter
