so, i have 2 drawings here. the 2nd one is actually the first one i made, i tried to take the character and translate it into a more realistic style.. although, it doesnt look like the character at all lol. and somehow i managed to completely change his skin color (??) even still, i really like how it came out. but since this is a DMC, i wanted to draw something closer to the actual character, so i drew a more cartoony version of the character.. more accurate to the references. i like how it came out aswell, but something about the face is bugging me. i think its the eyes? i dont think theyre placed properly. wanted to get better at midtones with these.. i dont want to have muddy transitions between light and shadow. a cool tip i just heard was that the transition from light to shadow isnt actually linear, its more so exponential, so the midtones will be closer to the lights than the shadows. i tried to implement that with the 2nd one especially
