1 WEEK SFTG CONTEST - FEBRUARY 2026 FIND THE COLOURS [35] ----- MY THOUGHTS ON THE PROMPT ----- In my vision, simplicity either interprets little quantity and/or quality that still works, or how something is at the beginning, a simple game. The progress I made in this represents a slight expedient method of making a FtG that still shows the main objective of one. I also wondered, what would a beginner FtG be like? How did I begin making one? I thought of how I started making FtG's, and then I remembered what makes a FtG a FtG, just finding stuff altogether. So I tried to replicate that vision, but also limited my usage of mechanics. Honestly, I think I went a little too overboard with the amount of Colours and the designs. However, I still think they're fine. This prompt felt more of a method of reflection rather than a method of creativity, as it lets me remember how I used to make a FtG. At first, I thought this prompt was a little too strict because of how much it restricted. But over time, I learned to adapt to those restrictions, and realized that expediency is still a great way to make a FtG. I'm not expecting to win, but I do hope my interpretation of simplicity fits well. This contest is more than just a contest, it's a way of learning how to adapt with something. I'd be happy to participate in more of these in the future. -Blockskev
----- NOTES ----- - All of the Colours are actually clones instead of sprites, to simplify the mechanism by putting everything in one sprite rather than multiple. - The difficulties of the Colours were made to be a bit exaggerated, probably showing how simple the obtainment methods are compared to modern FtG's. - Find the Colours was actually an idea I got a few months ago from brainstorming, but I then decided not to make any work on it. ----- CREDITS ----- MUSIC: Static Symphony V
