˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ "Ughhhhh," Aurelia groaned, as she sat on the edge of her bed. "Can you believe it? That /thing/ is my sister? Or maybe it's a prank," she pondered, as she combed her hair with a hairbrush. "Can you believe it? Socks?" Aurelia asked, peering over her shoulder to search for her Scottish Fold. Socks was- to say the least- a very fat cat. "Sookie you need to stop that," she sighed, as she set her hairbrush onto her bed and walked across the room to scoop up her cat. "It's okay. I don't have to like her. Its not /real/...." she trailed off, cradling a very annoyed Socks. "Right baby?" To which Socks hissed, and she finally let him down. "I guess everyone's against me today," she sighed, as she smoothened out her skirt. She made her way to the common room which was dimly lit; the greenish glow from the lake casting soft ripples along the stony walls. It was quieter than usual- Hogsmeade weekend, so everyone was out. "If it isn't the star of today's performance," A familiar voiced drawled. To that, Aurelia snorted and swung her legs over the arm of the couch as she played with her wand. "What does that even mean?" she laughed. She didn't even have to look at the voice; she could recognize that lazy drawl from a mile away. "Didn't you nearly kill a Gryffindor in Herbology?" Draco asked. "What now? Is that what they're saying?" Aurelia rolled her eyes as she tossed her novel in her lap. That was an over exaggeration. "I heard you launched a Mandrake at her." He started, taking a seat in the armchair opposite from her. "I did not." "You strangled her with one?" "No." "Attempted murder?" Aurelia stared at him. "Do you ever shut up?" "No." "That's unfortunate." Draco grinned. Aurelia picked up her book and flipped through a few pages. She wasn't actually reading it; when she was nervous, she tend to fidget with her necklace. The very same locket was sitting on her dresser, looking pretty and collecting dust. "Well?" Draco prompted, blond eyebrows raised. No one had eyebrows /that/ blond. Aurelia was sure he bleached them, but that was a confrontation for another day. "Well what?" She rolled her eyes. "What happened?" Aurelia groaned. "Nothing happened." "You got detention." "That doesn't mean anything." "With Riverstone." "Doesn't mean anything." Aurelia rolled her eyes so hard it hurt. "You sure?" he asked. "Cause I heard-" Aurelia grabbed one of the cushions and threw it at him. Unfortunately, he caught it easily. "Violent today, aren't we? Does it have to do with the fact that you nearly started a fist fight in a greenhouse?" "It wasn't a fist fight!" Aurelia sighed, feeling as if she wanted to bang her head on the wall- better yet, Draco's. She had never met a man more invested in drama than him. "What was it then?" Aurelia thought for a second. "A disagreement." "A disagreement." "A heated disagreement." Draco snorted. "Right." Aurelia crossed her arms. "It was mostly her fault." "Of course it was." "It was." "I know." "/Malfoy/." "I'm agreeing with you." "No you're not." He laughed again. Honestly, Aurelia was beginning to regret coming downstairs. The common room was nearly empty, save for a few first years playing wizard's chess near the fireplace, and failing horribly. "So everyone's at Hogsmeade?" she asked. "Yep." He answered, resting his feet on the coffee table. "Oh." "You didn't go." "I wasn't in the mood." Aurelia picked up her book from her lap slyly, calculating her aim. "Anyway, I'm leaving before you throw something else at me." He said, standing up suddenly. "Great idea!" Draco smirked and headed for the boys' dormitories, snatching a few whizzing frisbees from the first years on his way. "Night, DeValois." "Night." The moment he disappeared upstairs, the common room felt strangely quiet. Aurelia frowned. She hated being with the silence. That would require her to think. And she definitely did /not/ want to think about the day's events. Then she grabbed another cushion and shoved it over her face. "Merlin," she groaned. Everything was irritating her today. ˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ song: criminal by fiona apple
