Before I start, I would like to state that this is my first time ever writing a poem (freestyle) and actually finishing it. Also poetry is my worst grade in school atm so um get ready I wrote “enough” in like— 30 minutes, but it was inspired off what would have been an OG song. “Enough” revolves around how people always beg for love and someone to love them for Valentine Day, that they don’t realize what they already have If you would like to use these lyrics for a song, ASK FIRST because you will be reported :> —————— It’s the 14th Someone knocks at my door I don’t care who it is It could be my neighbor Shoveling snow on his driveway Maybe he needs some more salt Or someone to talk to I’d help him. Or the little kids down the street Playing in the snow Maybe one of them wants a blanket Or a bigger hand to hold I’d keep them warm. They’d all be my valentines Or I’ll walk down the street To the little corner shop The old lady that runs it, Maybe she needs some help? Or someone to talk to I’d give her company She’ll be my valentine I don’t have a “special one” Someone to kiss my hand Someone to give me roses Someone to give me hugs But other people can hold my hand. Other people can give me flowers Other people can give me hugs Other people can show me love The 14th of the 2nd month It’s just my ordinary day Why dedicate one day out of 365 To show how much you love someone? I don’t have a “special one” But I have people in my life Who care for me and cherish my warmth Why ask for more of what I already have? Isn’t that enough?
