• What is adrenaline? - A hormone released when we feel any sort of stress, fear or excitement that prepares body for dangerous situations which plays role in putting body into 'fight or flight' response. It helps us overcome challenges and survive hazardou situations, but is very addictive. • How does Adrenaline addiction work? - Dopamine, 'the reward hormone', often gets released alongside adrenaline, which makes our stressful or exciting situation be pleasing and euphoric experience that reinforces this action and creates loop. • How does it develop? - The addiction starts very simple, with truly just few stressful situations just like finishing assignment on last minute or going to school/work slightly late, then speeding just slightly, but not anymore because you are in a hurry, but because you want the adrenaline rush. These things slowly, or quickly, pile up and truly dangerous behaviours get reinforced, wanted. This process will repeat itself untill the addiction becomes life threatning.
• Hoppy and her addiction - As a kit Hoppy did a lot of stuff to get attention of her dad, siblings and friends, such as pretending to prepare for jumping into tidepools so Dazepoppy would notice her, climbing all the way up onto Clan Rock just for cats to see her and pulling pranks with Fawnkit, so eyes would turn towards her, but as she participates in more and more of the pranks, she will start to feel odd sense of euphoria. That euphoria, she loves the feelings as it numbs down the constant pain inside of her chest and head, it makes her feel in control, so she will start to chase that feeling. Firstly, she'd just continue to do pranks, but when it's not enough, she will start to poison the prey pile, in anticipation that someone might catch her, she would sneak out of camp, wondering from what danger she might need to escape. A little older, as an apperentince, she would result to cat version of extreme sports, climbing cliffs and then jumping down from them, swimming in the sea during thunder storm and even trespassing. Hops also discovers a new emotion, love, it almost matches that euphoria, but not quiete, not queite, so she mixes some of her own twist into it. She'd cheat onto her partners, seek relationships in other clans, as well as relationships that aren't quiete healthy. During warriorhood, Hoppy would begin to steal prey, go onto explorations, but it wouldn't be enough! So she will most likely taste blood, murder, the biggest rush of adrenaline she could ever feel.
