Backing with Houdini _ Houdini is one of my up-and-coming barrel racers, and is normally such a well-behaved mustang. Today, however, I believe he may have been feeling a bit feisty! It started when I took him out of his stall- he gave me a nip on my ear for taking too long to put on his halter! We started the session off with getting a bit more groundwork done, with the lunge line and a bit of liberty! He's really taken well to both of those, and he hasn't really had any issues with any equipment so far. However, we're finally starting to back him! Once I got the saddlepad out, he was instantly really interested by it and decided it warranted a good sniff. When he settled down, I decided to come towards him with some pats! As soon as he was comfortable, I slipped the saddle pad on him and quickly ran towards the other side of the paddock! He went though a visible stage of confusion(haha) and then immediately started bucking to try and dislodge it. Once he had calmed down, I picked it up and waited for him to walk towards me. Once he did, I let him slowly sniff and investigate the saddlepad once more. I gently brushed his sides with it, and he seemed to chuff a bit, but he had no reaction, which is great! I left the training at that today, as he wasn't feeling too comfortable anws! _ AHHH THE UPDATES ARE OUT OF ORDERRR this one comes before the other Houdini update :3 it lwk would have been quicker to just do it using the other sprites but I love giving myself more problems haha Please ignore the bad shading, I'm super sleep deprived and I need to start finishing my assesments + does anyone know what study techinques i can use???
