[2nd panel, sans internal monologue] sans: well, i know that for a fact. the question is.. how many times? what were the specific, exact events of each timeline created by each reset? have they been the exact same? had every reset simply just created a redundant replay of the same events over and over again? ... sans: ..hell, if i know. there's only so much that machine'll tell me. i can't help but wonder, though.. how many times have these events played out? how many good endings were there, what about the more bittersweet ones? have we ever had any ending unlike this? is it just completely impossible for me to change the underground's fate or am i simply just lazy? heh. that's a pretty good question.. ... sans: i don't think the idea of what comes after death has ever come into my mind before. if every timeline is like this one, i'm not sure if i'd ever have the time to contemplate on something like this, though. whatever god there may be, i'm sure that kid is thankful to them for their unconquerable soul. that's if they even believe in one, which i highly doubt. ....maybe god would be a god of laughter, one that loves joy. though, that idea is completely brought down by the events of today, and they find joy in stuff such as this unfolding, who knows. ...now that i think about it, the underground doesn't really have any place of worship, nor are there any worshippers or any religious books and symbols and whatnot, unless the deltarune counts. that brings up the queston.. how would we know whether or not a god even exists? what would be the signs, if any? are these events just punishments of pre-established doctrines that we've had no knowledge on? Sans' final thoughts are briefly followed by a divine, bright & glowing light. huh. that looks neat. looks nothing like grillbys' [3rd panel] sans: oh.
