odyssey book haul!! 1) left: Emily wilson translation (first woman to translate—the first third of the book is full of translator's notes and choices. I will nerd out about this if given the opportunity), right: looks funny on picture but very pretty cover. my boyfriend was going to try to do a project with this one, long story, but that didn't work out so i just got both books :D no complaints here 2) another view of book #2, you can see illustrated edges and a bit of the pretty spine design 3) emily wilson: maps!!! there are 4. i love them. 4) emily wilson: inside, you can see the verse she wrote it in. she kept the number of lines exactly the same as homer's and kept it in poetic form, though iambic pentameter instead of the specific rhythm he used 5) inside of blue book; this one is written in regular book/paragraph form 6) book #3: two-book set of harvard classical edition greek text. pretty gold designs 7) inside the greek book: i know the picture isn't great but you can see the words a bit, corresponds almost exactly with the english so i can look over and check myself to see if i got a word right haha
