Prologue Ava It was a normal day, the sun was shining, the air was crisp and fresh, and Ava was absolutely DYING of boredom. “You know, lying in a cell is pretty tedious," she called, hovering. She twisted around in the air. “Couldn’t you just give me a book or something to do?” She asked, sarcastically. She knew the guards would not respond, they never did. Why am I actually in a cell? She wondered to herself, I never did anything wrong, and I never had cancer. Suddenly, Ava heard a lot of yelling down the hall, and snarling. Looks like the two lovebirds are at it again. I’m surprised they haven’t been killed off yet, like most of the others. What are their names again? Jack and Lilly, maybe? They were very lucky, they had not been in here since they were 8. How old am I now? She wondered. 16? Time had a weird way of going very fast but at the same time, going irritably slow. Soon, she heard murmuring, and she leaned forward, eagerly listening to the chatter. Nothing exciting ever happened here, and she was getting restless. “New… get… controlled…,” was all she could hear. If what they were saying was correct, everything was about to change.
This is a book that I am going to try to get published. (cover is ai generated, im not a good artist)
