Music: Nevermore - sasalasa Okay okay, so there is this song called "Nevermore" by Sasalasa (Sasakure.uk and lasah) and I'm thinking. I was listening to this song and recently I've been falling in love with the poetry Edgar Allen Poe wrote. In "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe the lines "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door" and the line "And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted nevermore!" are in the poem. These lines are also lyrics in "Nevermore" by sasalasa which are heard as simple whispers. Knowing that the phrase "nevermore" plays a major role in both the poem makes me see a connection between the two but in "The Raven" the talking bird is a raven; meanwhile, in "Nevermore" the talking birds are a white and black crow. Thinking about it, "Nevermore" talks about themes of losing yourself as you fight for fame (as I think); yet, "The Raven" speaks of themes of loss (specifically loved ones but if you read the poem, the narrator slowly starts to lose himself). Thus, both song and poem are about the loss of something, yourself.
