- About ASPD - ASPD or Anti-Social Personality Disorder, is classified into two separate categories (which are not medical terms) being sociopathy and psychopathy, with sociopathy usually stemming from negative environmental factors, while psychopathy is largely genetic. It is a dysfunction which occurs in the limbic and paralimbic parts of the brain changing the perception environmental factors such as stress, danger or emotional cues. Ballad has psychopathy. Psychopaths, are individuals who struggle with or cannot feel empathy, guilt, shame, or other 'learned' emotions. As a result many of these people 'mask' in order to be socially accepted. Meaning they will pretend to have emotions based on what they see others doing around them. These are commonly referred to as high-functioning psychopaths. These people tend to be more manipulative, charming and dishonest and often have more narcissistic traits. Psychopaths tend to be much more calculating than sociopaths who are more likely to take drastic risks. Both have frequently described feeling a sense of euphoria, when breaking societal norms or laws, and many do not care or are unafraid of any consequences that may stem from these choices. The afore mentioned sense of euphoria, replaces what would normally be high stress situations, allowing people with psychopathy to stay much calmer under these circumstances. This impulsiveness has also been theorized to stem from so called 'chronic-boredom'. People with ASPD may be underwhelmed by the monotony of life and will engage in sensation-seeking behaviors create change, this constant boredom also causes a difficultly in maintaining long term goals. Traits of ASPD will likely be present before the age of 10 (in humans), but only effects 1% of all adults while impacting 20% of incarcerated adults, this is due to an increase in violent acts among this population. They are also more likely to reaffend, especially with a different crime. In short, they struggle to form 'stimulus-punishment associations'. It is however important to note, that many positions, such as surgeons, and leaders may to profit from having a psychopath in said position. Someone who is calculating, able to understand human emotion on an intellectual level and is able to stay calm in conventionally stressful situations, are undoubtedly important skills. - Ballad - In Ballads case ASPD, has resulted as previously mentioned do to an inherited trait, more specifically from his parent Lilith. As a child Ballad will seem a little off to other cats, and while he still openly plays with his siblings he will often be described as cold. His close connection to his mother regarding the completion of her oath may also affect this due to his accelerated rate of maturity in order to help in the completion of her goals. Despite his condition Ballad is incredibly emotionally intelligent very early and regularly manipulates others, even without meaning to when discussing with them. He would be considered high functioning and would fake emotions a great deal of the time. He would also regularly break out of UrchinClan territory to steal prey, or just walk around, he feels a great sense of euphoria from doing so, and needs the stimulation to keep him so motivated on his oaths, which he is incredibly dedicated to. Furthermore, he will also get into a few fights especially as a kit and apprentice due to more impulsive behavior. To most cats Ballad will appear average if not a bit mature for his age. At the level of interpersonal relationship Ballad with struggle to have deep raw connection. Most of his relationships will be built on a version of himself he believes others will like and want to befriend, this will make it difficult to sustain long term relationships, epically romantic ones. Ballad will have a lower success in healthy longer term relationships, because he is sure being honest will see him shunned. To entirely connect with another cat he will need that honestly. With a partner he will be less likely to be physical or intimate and the general satisfaction of both partners will be diminished. A close partner or friend might struggle to trust Ballad effecting the quality and longevity of the relationship. Here, it's important to mention that Ballad is capable of a long term relationship, it will simply be much more difficult to sustain and will require much more effort on the parts of both partners. Ballad will not see something wrong with himself, and will rather assume it is others that are the problem this will further his issues in close relationships. - RP - - Manipulative - Generally cold - Over analyzing others emotions and actions - Different personalities with each individual - Little to no sympathy or empathy for others - Self-oriented - Closest relationship remains with his mother - Impulsive, especially as a younger individual - When not masking, he blinks less, keeps his face emotionless and speaks in a flatter tone
