Aria choked out between sobs as she attempted to forced her aching muscles into a half-bow. The General and Senator of the Guardian army stood before her, his deep blue eyes glaring down at her trembling form with disgust. "Give me one good reason to forgive you for all you have done to our people." he spat. Aria glanced up fearfully at the intimidating figure through cracked round-rimmed glasses. "I-" She began, but her voice caught in her throat and all that followed were helpless squeaks. "You betrayed us," the Senator growled as he swiveled his head to view the blackened night sky through the window of the great hall, "You worked with THEM. You worked with the enemy. You destroyed our city... our Kingdom!" He turned back to the terrified young girl that still bowed before him. "The shadow walkers... You're a Guardian! How could you do this to us?! To me?!" His wings unfurled from his sides, making him seem all the more intimidating. They were white like the rest of his body, minus the blue tips that matched the blue that topped his ears. "I-" She began once more, but was soon interrupted. "STAND!" She immediately rose to her feet, avoiding eye contact with the Senator and hiding her bloodshot eyes with a paw. "You should be facing the death sentence, as anybody else would," He growled as he stepped toward her, his muscled body towering over her as an elephant would a mouse, "You should be sent to hell, as anybody else would." "I-" "SILENCE!" He shouted, causing Aria to coil back. "But, as I was saying, I will not put such punishment upon you in the form you would expect. I will let you leave, flee. But you will be wanted. Your face will be on flyers all over the city, and the royal guard will be hunting you down like the animal you are." He let out a longing sigh, as if he knew he would later regret his decision. "Go. Get out. Leave. Before I change my mind." "I- I don't understand." Aria whispered feebly. "GO! GET OUT! LEAVE!" The senator repeated louder. "I'm sorry... I don't want to do this..." Aria nodded shakily and ran out the door. Tears streamed down her face, but there was no time to feel sorry for herself. Hell could wait, it was now her time to start cheating death.
