Literally if his mother took him instead of leaving him with his ab^s!v3 dad, he probably would've been a better character. But he didn't deserve to die. If he didn't, he would've had a sick redemption arc. Maybe would've been a better brother to Max, and probably would've been real good friends w/ Steve, Nancy, Robin, and Johnathan 13) headcanons? Billy's gay. Steve's Bi with a more preference to men than women, but he still was in a relationship with Nancy, but she left him (The break-up canonically), and after trying so hard to win her back (And obviously not having any luck), Steve had given up. When Billy arrived at Hawkin High, he became instant rivals with Steve. It wasn't until an incident at home led Billy quiet and distant. After receiving some sort of comfort from Steve, Billy had realized he wasn't as bad as he thought. Hence my way of how Billy and Steve became lovers!
