[click to see art, button to switch versions, hold to zoom] Guys oh my glob This took SO LONG I drew it on paper, and then spent hours on the lineart because there were so many proportionality issues and also I was trying a new line technique, I had to change Varian's outfit like 3 times because I kept drawing it wrong, I took forever learning how lighting worked, and then I extended it to the wrong dimensions, and then I realized my lighting was wrong, so I had to fix that, and then I had to extend it AGAIN to fit the right dimensions (5x11 btw if anyone CARES) BUT LO AND BEHOLD IT IS FINISHED I got this idea because I saw one of JJGGRT's old Varian and Hugo drawings- they were setting off lanterns from the movie. And I thought to myself, "That would be a great wallpaper! I should make something like that,,, tying Vat7K characters to the movie,, oh that would be SO fun!" If you're familiar with JJGGRT, you know her artstyle is often very quick and kinda sketchy (she is a storyboarding artist, after all). That was the original vibe I was going for. But, uh, you can see I got a tad . . . carried away. I don't regret it even a little bit, though! 18 hours well spent!! I am so proud of this one, and I hope you like it too!!
