NORTH STAR . a srp She was a shadow. A creation borne of the darkness, only to further exemplify the lights of those around her. How many moons had it been since she’d last spoken to her family? She couldn’t remember. Oh, she was naive. She was foolish to ever hope that things would change. And yet… here she stood. In the frigid midst of memory, she remembered – The time she’d spent with her father, Kelpie, as a kit, unaware of the perils of the world. She’d snuck off from her nest to spend time with herself, only to encounter him in the late of night. She was scared. Scared to admit she’d betrayed him. But surprisingly, he did not seem to mind. He told her of how he used to leave his nest without telling his parents all the time. And to be honest, it’d made her feel less guilty about her decision. She never thought her father, of all cats, would do such a thing. Then, she asked him a question: “Papa, do you think it will be the same in every universe? I think it would not matter. I would still love you.” “The same in every universe? My dearest, where do you find the time to think of these types of questions? No matter what universe we may live in, you'll always be my daughter, and I'll always love you. " How broken she was, to think that /love/ would remain in every universe. As she strode into the depths of the mountains, she paused. Here was her first encounter with her mentor, Rosemarydusk. She had chosen to wander into the mountains back when she was a kit, and he’d asked whether or not she knew the way to Shadowclan territory. She said she did not know. “You are like the mountain… you will find a way or make your own.” Noticing her shivering form, he decided to offer his tail as a place of warmth. At the time, she did not realize how soft he was being. Later, he mentioned a couple of his talents as they traveled together. It was at this moment she decided: she wanted to learn how to fight. She did not think he would respond, but of course, she was mistaken. A deal was made. He would train her… in exchange for nothing. She continued down the slope, her paws aching. Another memory floated into her mind. The rose-hued knight let out a sigh, her breaths clouding in the frosty air. /Prince./ Altesse. Her brother. They had a dispute while back, though she wouldn’t admit it. Her pride wouldn’t allow her to, and it wasn’t like she fancied the memory. "Ne me mens pas," she hissed, her words drawn like a blade. "I /know/ you are hurt." Her gaze swept over his awkward stance, face twisting in concern. "Why do you continue to hide things from me?" All it took was a single question. Then, nothing. They’d lost contact for some time after. But she couldn’t leave him alone. She often watched from the shadows, seeing how his… “family” enjoyed each other’s presence. She’d heard of their names: Willow, Woechime. The way he seemed so /happy/ around them. /Why not me?/ Or perhaps, the question was: /Why couldn’t she be more like them?/ A couple of moons into her venture, and she’d stopped watching him at all. She couldn’t bear to see him like this. He was completely fine without her. And if she didn’t have a purpose, then who was she? /Nobody./ As much as she hated to say it, she just couldn’t live like this. /She didn’t think he would even notice if she left./ Here she was, alone, in the mountains, where no one would ever find her. She hadn’t been eating or sleeping well since her departure. But it didn’t matter. She was tired of being cast aside. Couldn’t he see, just for a moment, that she was trying to help him? For so long, she had yearned for a purpose, only to be indirectly told she didn’t matter. She tilted her head upwards, searching for guidance amongst the stars. “Mon dieu…” /What have I done?/ There above, she spotted the north star: Polaris. “Please guide me onto the right path.” she whispered, mostly to herself. /Was she doing the right thing?/ She did not have the time to think about her choices; not now. “You are like the mountain… you will find a way or make your own.”
Ignore how late this is... I meant to release this SRP a month ago :') Hi TFC! This SRP essentially wraps up my ideas with Clematis. I’m not used to writing with proper capitalization in roleplays, lol. Anyways, she will officially be moving to SHC (Shadowclan) for the duration of this plot. Now, what does this plot consist of, you may ask? Stage 1: Her arrival at Shadowclan camp. She meets up with a couple of her acquaintances, namely Odelament. Stage 2: She begins to integrate into clan life. Clematis refuses to take a clan name – she is still far too attached to her past, despite what she tells herself. Stage 3: She adjusts into her new role… oo I’ve already obtained prior permission for her to become a mercenary of sorts. After she adjusts to her new home, she is still in search of a purpose, one that may lead her down a dark path. Once I reach the 3rd stage of this plot, she will become open for hiring! If you have a plot that involves a third-party… lmk. With consent from both parties, you can hire Clematis to track down the target and fight them (or possibly kill them!). She believes she is doing the world a favor by doing what the "pure of heart" cannot. I’m not going to reveal too much just yet, so you’ll have to wait and see :) And now, I’m going to include a couple notes regarding the reason behind this plot: - Prince. He is the star in Clematis’ life, as she is only vaguely aware of her other siblings. After she spots his leg injury, she snaps at him because she is tired of seeing him getting hurt and not admitting to it (though she is pretty much on the same spectrum!). She is tired of seeing him pretend to be happy. And most of all, she is tired of not being seen. As you may read in the SRP, she stops watching him around 30-ish moons, which leads her to not be aware of his life. Because she is far too prideful to seek help and reconcile with him, she never gets to meet any of his children, nor is she aware that he ever had children in the first place. The Trisslings will never get to be happy :( - Tristesse. Although his roleplayer is no longer here (I miss u Smokey!), she still holds her father in high standards. To her, he is everything she is not. She hates that she didn’t spend enough time with him before he left, and she despises herself even more for letting her emotions get in the way of her judgment. She is unaware that he was neglectful to her younger siblings. She only sees the idealized version of him, because that’s the only version she ever got to see. - Her own name: Clematis. In the Victorian era, the clematis was associated with ingenuity and artifice. The plant is characterized by its distinctive growth, always climbing its way around obstacles to seek the light. The upward growth of the vines is also associated with aspiration and the ascent towards higher knowledge. These foundations led to the flower being known as “Traveler’s Joy”. - The North Star guides travelers and is easily located in the night sky. However, the North Star does not move; it exists as a fixed point as the universe moves in tandem. Clematis believes her purpose is inevitable, like Polaris, which eventually leads to her descent into darkness. She views herself as a shadow searching for a purpose – yet it is her very search that causes her downfall. - The mountains are symbolic, in a way. Every time she tries to run away from her mistakes, she finds herself in the mountains. This quote, “You are like the mountain… you will find a way or make your own.” is taken directly from her first encounter with Rosemarydusk. Again, she finds herself wandering back to a place she should’ve left behind, and her words resurface.
