I didn't know what to do with Smokepaw, the HazeClan point-of-view character for Fading Stars, so I decided to have both the living and dead cats be ambiguous about Smokepaw's destiny, causing Smokepaw to fall victim to the whispers of The Place of No Stars, because they offered to try and help Smokepaw learn the truth about his destiny. Smokepaw will be Ashblaze's dark forest apprentice.
