Alright so here's the Heterophobia rant. Anyways, Heterophobia IS real, it's just not as big or serious as Homophobia. That doesn't mean that it DOES NOT exist, though. Now, lets get one thing s t r a i g h t... I'm not. Alright, alright, but seriously, homophobia isn't a phobia. Homophobic people are not scared of us and never will be, they're just disgusted. Homophobia mainly means the discrimination of people in the LGBTQ+ community since I've never seen people actually FEAR us... just act VERY irrational around us. Anyways, the same thing can apply to Heterophobia. It's not exactly a phobia, it's just discrimination against a straight person, JUST for being straight. With all that being said, let's get to why I made this rant!!1! Alright, so as ALWAYS, I saw a Pin on Pin interest, like always, that got me MAD. The pin said "Heterophobia isn't real!!" And ALL the comments were agreeing 'n stuff... ion know I'm getting tired of typing, so instead of making a giant rant going "this comment said this which is dumb and here's why!" I'm gonna break it down into the most said comments, and my thoughts on them. Comment: "Straight people aren't killed and slaughtered just for being straight in some countries, therefore, Heterophobia isn't real!" My thoughts: If you think that people need to be hurt and killed just for something to qualify as a phobia, then you're disgusting. Yes, homophobia is WAYYY more extreme than heterophobia, but they BOTH still exist in their own way. Just because your gay doesn't mean you can do no evil and can't discriminate against other sexualitiies. I BET you $200 that there's some gay people out there who see straight people as "less than" just because they're straight. THAT'S also heterophobia. I even saw a comment saying "Can't we just FORCE all straight people into the LGBTQ+ community?" It wasn't a joke... If you think like that, you're ALSO heterophobic and DISGUSTING. Just imagine if a straight person said, "can't we force all LGBTQ+ people to be straight?" (Well they already do, but STILL! See how gross it sounds?!" Comment: "Making jokes and saying that straight people are boring and whatnot isn't heterophobia." My thoughts: It's still pointing as some kind of malice towards straight people. If you're making hateful, derogatory jokes towards straight people, such as censoring their sexuality's name or calling them boring, chances are, you're heterophobic. Just like ours and me, straight people can' CONTROL their sexuality and calling them 'boring' for it is just down right dehumanizing. Imagine being called BORING just because of something you can't control! You're quite literally just making rude jokes towards them and their sexuality just because they're straight, and brushing it off as a "joke" won't make it any less wrong. Atp, you're just straight up bullying straight people. Why the hell does this community expect respect from straight people when they're over here acting like THIS?! Comment: "Well I've never seen heterophobia, therefore, it isn't real!" My thoughts: It's harder to argue with a dumb person than a smart one. You should already KNOW why this comment is so stupid.
