If you have a bunch of characters sitting around but don't know what to do with them, hopefully this project can help! Start with the basics! - Name: maybe you've just made/received a character. First up, you'll wanna give your character a name! That way you don't have a bunch 'TBN's. There are lots of great ways to find names for characters. Baby name websites are a good place to start! You can even just ask people for name ideas, there's so many cool names out there! - Personality: Even if you don't have a backstory planned out, your character doesn't have to be entirely a blank slate! Even a simple character trope could work; the comic relief, the chill guy, the quiet one. - Reference sheet: Provided your character doesn't have one already, drawing a reference sheet is useful if you or other people draw / are planning to draw the character a lot. Typically, you'd include a fullbody drawing, the color palette, close-ups on any details such as the eyes, and really just anything you'd like! If you've already done those, here's some more fun ideas! - Have an oc interact with another oc! It could be a short story, a drawing of them together, clothing/accessory swap, or anything else you can think of! - If your character's design is very complex, you could create a simple version of the design that you can use for quick doodles! You can reserve the complex design for full artworks - Draw cool art of your characters! Abstract art, interesting colors, backstory art, you name it! - If your characters have interesting design elements (like water tails, fire hair, or extra limbs) consider how they'd utilize them or how it'd change how they interact with their environments. Furthermore, you could consider how and why they ended up with their accessories or clothing! Bought from a shop? Gifted from a friend? - Draw for fun!!!!!! If you like doing funny meme art of your ocs, go for it! You don't owe anyone fully rendered artwork of your own characters. - (Suggestion by @The_Very_Scared_Cat) You could make an interactable OC project, with talking and animations! - (Suggestion by @Zapoy150) Code a game with your OC, maybe a platformer or a point-and-click! - (Suggestion by @That_1_90ny) Draw your character interacting with a character from a piece of media you like, or someone else's character (you might want to ask first though) Offer some more ideas down below if you'd like!
