1 week ago Zelda woke with a start. The dream had come to her. Again. She knew she wouldn't be able to go back to sleep, so she decided to go walk in the courtyard. The halls were silent. It was normal for everyone to be asleep at this hour, but it seemed like there was something wrong in the air. Zelda emerged from the castle, into the courtyard. The wind rustled the trees and small rodents scurried here and there, but it didn't frighten her. She walked down the path towards some Zonai rubble. She didn't know why but something seemed to be pulling her to the rubble. Then she realized that it was dead silent, no owls, no mice, nothing. She started to get nervous. She began to turn back, and then the whispers came. "You will let your country down, your a failure," it whispered Zelda tried to cry out but no noise came. The dream came flooding back to her. Six children standing in a circle around a black cloud. They each had an element swirling around them: fire, water, wind, lightning, earth, and time. "They will not save you, they are your enemy," the thing said. "N-No," Zelda managed to say. Suddenly a blur flew past Zelda, and there was a metallic "shing" as Link drew his sword. But the whispers had stopped and the night sounds returned. "What was it?" asked Link. "I-I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it can't be good," Zelda replied. 5 years ago Fire enveloped houses. The ground broke beneath their feet. Water tried to put out the fire. Lightning struck masses of guards. Wind threw people of their feet. People screamed. Guards shouted. The siblings ran through their burning village, carrying the youngest two. They turned right, then left, guards running after them. It was hard to breath through all the smoke. Right again, dead end. "Stop right there!" shouted a guard. "Why would we stop if your trying to kill us," shouted Pyren over the roaring inferno. The guards didn't answer, they charged. One threw a spear but missed. Another threw a net, but Pyren lit it on fire. "Hey tin cans, have a nice fall!" Rivyn, hiding behind a crate, tugged on a rope, tripping the guards. They ran past the guards and to the field. Guards began stepping out of the shadows of the forest beyond them "Where do you think you're going?" shouted the leader. They ran at the children and jabbed at them with their spears. One grazed Seren's arm. That was the last straw for Pyren. Something inside him started to burn. He held out his hands and flame erupted from them and enveloped the guards. The children ran, wide-eyed and didn't stop until they knew they were safe. As the others made camp Pyren stared at the remains of the village, remembering that the guards had thought of them as non-threats. They had paid dearly for their mistake. As Pyren slept he promised he would protect his family from the crest of Hyrule. Present day (in Hyrule) Rivyn sat staring at the cloth covered cubes on his desk. He wasn't sure if he should show his siblings the Runner prototypes yet, for fear of them breaking. He decide to show them to his siblings, as they would find out at some point. He picked up the cubes and went to the map room were Pyren was talking about their heist. "Alright," Pyren began, "We are going to steal the literal crown today, this is going to be the biggest heist ever. Lookout Landing is going to start their festival in three hours, which means the streets are going to be packed, which is perfect for distraction. Veyra, you're going to blow floats and balloons around. Seren, you'll distract the guards with your lightning. Torren, you'll shake the ground and make people panic. Cael, you'll repeat anything that causes tons of chaos with your time powers. I'll light everything on fire. Rivyn, will use his water to flood some streets and his tech to mimic our voices. Everyone got that?" A chorus of voices rang with agreement. "I need to show you guys something," Rivyn said from the doorway. As they walked through their base in the side of a canyon, Rivyn gradually led them outside to shady clearing. It was pretty hot out, and they were grateful for the shade. "I've been developing these things called 'runners'," Rivyn began, "We can ride them to get around faster and look really cool. They also help us fight." "Can we see them?" asked Veyra. "Sure," Rivyn responded. He set the cubes on the ground and took the cloth off of them. They looked like black cubes with different colored veins on them. "That's... them?" asked Seren. Suddenly the cubes burst into a ball of light. When the light was diminished the cubes weren't cubes anymore, they were metallic animals. The wolf runner bounded over to Pyren, the hawk one flew to Veyra, the cheetah sprinted over to Seren, the bear lumbered over to Torren, the gecko crawled to Rivyn, and the owl hopped over to Cael. "Woah!" exclaimed Pyren, "These are epic!" "Glad you like them," Rivyn replied, "But these are prototypes so you won't be able to use them for a while." Continue in the credits
"So... we can't use them for the heist?" asked Pyren "No," Rivyn shook his head, "There are still a few dangerous glitches that could really hurt somebody. You can keep them attached to your belts though, just don't use them until I fix them." With that, the Runners became cubes again. "Alright let's go inside and finish the plan," Pyren said while clipping the cube to his belt. As they walked inside Pyren thought he heard whispers in his ears, but he just shrugged it of thinking it was just the wind. When they got back to the map room, Pyren laid out a map of Lookout Landing. "According to some...mercenaries, the crown is kept in the central tower of Lookout Landing. It is guarded heavily at all times, so we need to be very careful. Rivyn, did you manage to get the cart in the city." "Yep." "Alright great. We are going to use Rivyns' tech to mimic our voices and get guards away from the tower so we can get in. Until the cart gives the signal stay low and out of the way. When we are inside the tower we'll use Rivyns' disruptors to disarm some traps and then walk straight to the crown. Do you know why we're doing this?" "For power?" asked Torren. "To protect it?" asked Cael "No, we're doing it because we can and it will make the queen look really bad because six children stole from her." Pyren responded, "Alright let's gear up." Pyren walked to his room and through the secret wall behind his weapons rack. He put on some metal gauntlets and boots. He took his hood and cloak down from the peg and clipped them on. He was ready to leave when he saw it. The skull of a firedrake. Memories flooded back to him. He was in the woods, lost, crying. Alone. He curled up in the hollow of a tree and fell asleep. He thought he could hear whispering that sounded like crackling fire. When he woke up the skull was sitting in front of him. When he put it on he didn't feel scared anymore. He found his out of the forest and when he got back to his village. The elders took one look at the skull and said he couldn't have it because he wasn't a warrior. He kept it hidden away and didn't wear it. His mother and father had hugged him when he got back and told him they would never let him go again. Until the day guards came. They were just scouts but still dangerous. His mother and father had fallen of the cliff when the guards charged them. He remembered shoving the guards of the cliff too and promising to wipe out the royal crest. He grabbed the helmet skull and put it on his head, then went to the entrance to wait for his siblings. They walked out one by one. Rivyn carried a staff, Veyra had a bow, Seren wielded dual scimitars, Torren had a giant hammer that was way to big for a ten year old, but he carried it with ease, and Cael hade his rune book. They were all dressed in cloaks and hoods to conceal themselves. "One last question," Pyren said, "Who are we?" "THE CHAOS ACCORD!" everyone shouted in unison, grinning from ear to ear and they all sprinted of to Lookout Landing city. Well that was chapter one, so I hope you like it. :D Please hit the green flag so I know how many people read this. If you read the other start that I made, Molten is Pyren. Thanks to Sir_Gavin for the idea of lookout landing being a city. Hopefully the next chapter will be soon.
