*WoF rant incoming* So, it would appear that rather than just making another two winglets and a legend for the third series to tie up the loose ends, (eg, the Peril and Sky renunion, Sanctuary, the Invincible city), Tui T. Sutherland has decided to make an entire fourth series. Before other WoF fans jump me and drag me back into heretic jail, I'm not saying I hate Wings of Fire, just that I feel Tui T. Sutherland could have just ended it at the second series and everything would have been fine. I personally, found the first series really nice and wholesome and thus I felt obliged to read every other book plus the winglets and legends, even when the content started going downhill. And now I feel obliged to read this new series as well, no matter how good or bad it is. In my mind, nothing can outdo the first five books, so chances are, I'm going to think of it as a cash grab sequel that couldn't live up to the first series. Anyone is free to say that it's going to be a great new series, everyone is welcome to their own opinion. Hopefully though, it will introduce more character archetypes. If you have seen the stuff I do in between animating, you will know that I was able to sort all the series cover characters into 3 archetypes, and one of those was a joke that only contained two characters that could easy just be sorted into the other two. Literally ALL WoF protagonists are either really agressive or self depreciating and nice to a fault. Another thing I'm curious about is that supposedly this series has a lot more hybrids in it, which should be fun to see, and hopefully, this series will tie up most of the loose ends from the last 15 books. That would be great. Other than that I honestly don't have high hopes for this fourth series.
