hello axolotls:P ok! the story continues! Delphine woke up to find the forest filled with light. Gone was the onyx darkness of the long night. She could see the vivid colors of grass and flowers. She was alone- but at least she was alone in an endless garden. Delphine looked up at the sky- she could hardly believe it was this big! And it was blue. The brightest blue she had ever seen. Blue like waves. Or sapphires. Or Delphine’s eyes. She built herself somewhat of a home; a little shelter made by tying sticks and branches together with vines or stacking them on top of each other. She always kept her dagger in hand. Soon, she had a small hut where she could almost stand up. Her hands covered in dirt, Delphine followed the sound of flowing water to a crystal- clear stream, glistening in the morning sun. Delphine daintily sat on the pebbly shore of the brook and dipped her hands in the diamond water. It was so cold her fingers were almost numb, but Delphine didn’t mind. She gazed at herself in the reflection of the water- dirty dress, messy hair, scars on her face. She didn’t care. She inhaled the morning air and got lost in the sound of the running river and singing birds. Suddenly, she felt her entire body tense. She began to shake. She looked down at her reflection with horror. Her face was bloody and completely covered in scars, and the sky was red above her. Behind her, she could see raging flames and a gruesome battle. She quickly looked behind her- just trees and sunlight. But the reflection still showed the same grim image. Was Delphine insane? Or was this what she thought it was? Her hands and breath began to shake as she peered into the stream. She slowly reached out her fingers to touch the surface of the stream…. The moment her skin came in contact with the cold water, it made tiny ripples on the surface. But they grew bigger. Soon, tidal waves erupted from the tiny stream. Delphine screamed in horror as she watched the waves flood the forest. She was frozen in fear, and soon got swept up in the ocean. It was cold as ice, numbing her body as bubbles of air escaped from Delphine’s mouth as she let out muffled screams. She watched as even the tallest trees became engulfed. She drifted slowly to the bottom, like a feather drifting in the wind. Time seemed to slow down as she sank in the ice-cold water. Her limbs became more and more numb. She could barely move as she drifted to the bottom, closing her eyes…
