Starring Luther Price and Ameliah Corázon, these two are trapped in the bodies of the characters of Sonic and Knuckles respectively in the 2012 ROM hack, Sonic 2: 20 Year Anniversary Edition. Luther in particular has been trapped in the game for 14 years, since 2012. They fight the demon known as Zarugo, that embodies the Underworld itself. Luther and Ameliah have infinite Continues, leading to them always coming back after death. It’s a constant cycle of torture and death. How can they defeat it? If only they were able to somehow hack in some legendary artifacts, they'd be able to defeat Zarugo. There will be four different endings, with one being canon to the story while the other three are NOT canon. A lot of lore will be provided through comic panels I will make.
The hack is actually a Sega Saturn game, based on Sonic Jam. When hacking Jam, Zarugo got rid of everything except for Sonic 2. Bios: Luther Price, an ex Green Beret from Madison, WI. He was 30 years old. Following his interest in the S220YA ROM hack in 2012, his soul was taken by the demon that goes by Zarugo. He has extensive combat and technological prowess, serving 3 tours in the Middle East throughout the early 2000's. He was a Sergeant who specialized in sniping and intel. He has been deeply invested in the Sonic franchise since he was a child. He also had a wife with a baby. His body is actually dead physically. He was born in November of 1982, placing him at 44 years old in 2026, when the story takes place. Ameliah Corázon, a transgender music composer from the Detroit suburb Wyandotte. She also had a deep love for the Sonic franchise. She downloaded the ROM in 2022. She composed music for the Sonic fangame; Tails and The Chaos Lord, and other games. She grew up in the district of Belmont, which is plagued by poverty and crime. Despite this, her parents were able to keep her safe thanks to the fact that her father is a leading sergeant for the Detroit SWAT. She was 15 years old when she played the ROM. She downloaded the ROM when she was 12 in 2022, but never played it until December 18th, 2025. She forgot to play it due to things going on at the time. She was born as a male, but transitioned in 2021. Unlike Luther whose physical body is dead, Ameliah's isn't. Rather, a state of comatose. Luther has made it his mission to save Ameliah and get her back to the real world. She was born in February of 2010, making her 16. Zarugo, the demon that inhabits "Sonic 2: Anniversary Edition". It is the embodiment and personification of Hell itself. It stole the souls of Luther and Ameliah, and placed them into the game's vessels. It is 100% PURE EVIL. It feels absolutely ZERO empathy for any living thing except itself. It takes on a form that resembles Tails, but looks much closer to Modern Tails' design. Zarugo, however, has much darker/saturated yellow fur with gray pupils in its "Faker Form." When not in the Faker Form, it has black eyes with glowing purple pupils, extremely ruffled and messy fur along with a third tails with razor sharp claws. Yo! If you're reading this, here's some EXTRA IMPORTANT info about the characters. Luther is generally based on Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil, and I based him on Leon's different appearances through the games. I imagine Luther to have looked like Leon OR Chris Redfield. IRL, Luther is an extreme aurafarmer (HOLY BRAINROT), who unintentionally aurafarms all the time because he is just like that. Ameliah is actually highly based on myself, as I like doing the same stuff she does, I'm from the same city, (except my dad isn't a SWAT member), and I actually do plan to transition to a girl at least by the end of 2026, or early 2027. Zarugo's personality is based on Wesker from RE. Zarugo, just like Wesker, possesses immense strength and intelligence, and shows 0 empathy for anybody else. Zarugo is 100% EVIL. Its powers are constricted to the game itself, which means it can be beaten! If only Luther and Ameliah had something to help them achieve this goal... Okay. If you read all the way down here, there's a surprise for you at the end! ENDINGS: Ending 1: The True Ending Ameliah succeeds in hacking in the Chaos Emeralds, and with them, she and Luther transform into Super Knuckles and Super Sonic, respectively. They engage in a bloody battle with Zarugo, and win. They beat it powerfully for what seemed like hours, until charging up a powerful beam of Chaos Energy (It was basically a Kamehameha from DBZ) and erased Zarugo from existence. Ameliah, after defeating Zarugo, collapses out of her Super form due to fatigue. Luther, still in his Super state, uses his last bit of Chaos Energy to send Ameliah's soul back to her real body! Because of Zarugo being erased, the game slowly started to collapse and re-structure itself. This sent Luther's soul out of his Sonic vessel, sending Luther's soul to the heavens. Ameliah wakes up in the hospital in Detroit, and is relieved to be back. She is checked up upon by the doctors, who notify her parents. She goes back home with them, and is back in the real world! She starts to get re-acquainted with everything, like school, friends, the world itself, and just about everything else. Luther is in the heavens with his fallen comrades from 2007! They reminisce on everything, and watch over Earth. Luther, in particular, watches over Ameliah so nothing bad happens to her. They get to do anything they'd like, even having TV and their old game consoles from college!
