This is a cover I did mainly to figure out how to use sound trap. Somebody recommended it to me; I’ll put their username in the credits when I get back on my computer because scratch on mobile is kinda annoying. Lyrics: The beautiful song of the Lorelei, The musical cry of the sea The crash of the waves, the howling wind The music is calling to me To me The music is calling to me The marvelous ways of the Lorelei The curious trails of the deep A journey of dreams, of oceans and streams Great canyons and mountains, grand caverns and fountains and reefs Oh waters and rivers deliver the music to me, To me, Come and bring the wonder of music to me Lorelei, Lorelei, bring back the music, Lorelei, Lorelei, bring back the music to me Loo loo loo (etc. ; I’m not typing all the loo’s out) Come join in the music of hope and love Let’s seek to be all we can be Don’t stay on the shore for life is much more Let’s dance on the waves and be free (let’s dance and be free) Be free Let’s dance on the waves and be free (dance on the waves, dance on the waves) Lorelei (Lorelei) Lorelei (Lorelei) Lorelei This took me two and a half hours because I had to learn the software, and two of the vocal parts (I only knew soprano two 3 hours ago.) The alto line is kinda bad at the end because that was like me in the middle of learning it but wanting to go to bed, but I don’t feel like re recording. I sang this with two of my friends for solo and ensemble (we each did a vocal part) recently. I was sop. 2. (Even though I can sing higher than the girl who sang sop 1 but anyways) lol
This is Lorelei by Joseph M Martin Pianist is the pianist at my school, I’m not putting her name for obvious reasons. Love her. Vocals and thumbnail by me and soundtrap and canva Lorelei is a siren in German folklore. She does the whole sings sailors to their doom thing, though I don’t think it’s for her benefit (eating them or something) because they crash in the rocks. Using that as context (though lots is left to interpretation), I think this song tells a really good story. Ew I just did a listen through, and I need to learn how to cut off at specific times it turns out. (That’s the part I struggle with breathing tho) I’ll probably re-record this later. If you want to give feedback for that, it would be greatly appreciated. Woah, you read to the end? Good on you, awesome person. :)
