(Edit: it appears only a few projects were indexed, not all of them. My working theory is that ST may be manually reviewing and indexing things.) As you all have noticed, there are projects on the Explore page again. Look again and you may notice….. they’re all from December. So what happened? The answer is simple and not what most of you want to hear: projects through December got indexed. So what does this mean? Well, let me tell you. It means any project made through December is now searchable. That’s all. And as a side effect, the top projects at the end of December are now at the top of the page. So, you may be wondering…. Will we ever get trending back? The answer is no, not in its original form, based on what ST has said. However, recently Colby, one of Scratch’s devs and the CTO of Scratch, took to the forums to explain things. He said: “ The issue with indexing has absolutely nothing to do with the tech and everything to do with folks continuously working to get inappropriate stuff into trending. And, we're focusing on getting new things prepared and deployed this year which means we're pivoting to make all explore pages curated, while search still works. This is yet another side effect of not having nearly enough folks to work on things vs what we have now, and want to create in the future.” As of right now the pages are not curated, but it’s possible they will be soon. So everyone, all I ask is that you be prepared for change and not celebrate quite yet! But do celebrate that those projects are searchable!
