Someone has stolen all of Canada's maple syrup, and just before the Québec Carnaval! Lots of tourists enjoy eating maple syrup-based treats during the Carnaval and will be devastated when they find out it's all been stolen! You will be presented with several pieces of evidence. You will classify these pieces of evidence as either clues or red herrings. Then, you can interview the witnesses and victims, after which you can decide who are the suspects. Piece together all your information to figure out who stole the maple syrup! Help recover Canada's supply of maple syrup before the Carnaval begins! Controls: Press the buttons to see the lists of Victims (yellow), Witnesses (blue), and Suspects (red). The green button can be used to interview people. Press space key to select who you want to interview. Once you've interviewed everyone, you pick two suspects, the victims, and the witnesses (everyone else). Use your list of clues (you can access the red herrings as well, just in case they aren't actually red herrings) and, when you've found the person who you think did it, use the pink button to make your verdict. If you are right, the game will end and you saved Canada's maple syrup. If you are wrong, you will have to guess again. If neither of your suspects committed the crime, you lose the game and Canada's maple syrup thief escapes. Press 'r' to show red herrings, 'c' to show clues, click the backdrop to hide all lists. Press 'h' to hide the biographies. At the end of the game, you can read some facts about Canada.
DISCLAIMER: Nothing in this project is designed to poke fun at Canadians. All people and names are completely fictional and not intended to reflect real people. Any resemblance to any other person, real or fictional was unintentional. Red Herring - something intended to divert attention from the real problem or matter at hand; a misleading clue. (dictionary.com) This game is designed to mimic the process that detectives/investigators use to solve crimes by looking for clues, interviewing the witnesses, suspects, and victims, then analysing the evidence to find the culprit. In some cases, there is more than one. In other cases, a witness or victim may actually be the culprit, so be careful that you carefully examine everything. Keep in mind, you are in Québec, Canada. This is important. The hotel in the background is the Château Frontenac in Québec City, Canada. Please no spoilers in the comments! NOT my best work. Please see this game, it's much better:
