My first Sonic AU: Kapi

Sonic the Hedgehog (This is an AU though. AU stands for Alternate Universe): Name: Sonic. His nickname is Kapi. Age: 16 Height: 3’4” Description: has mainly blue fur, blue arms, bare tan mouth skin, blue hedgehog ears, and green eyes. Wears normal Sonic-style shoes and plain white gloves. Sounds normal, right? WRONG!!! This Sonic AU has no mouth at all. Period. Like his mouth doesn’t even exist. But this AU also has various markings all over his body that you can clearly see here. Traits: Insane speed and agility, able to make Sonic Booms, blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Yeah, he has every normal trait that normal Sonic has. Can we get this over with already?! Oh wait, actually, he is perfectly fluent in sign language and can make audible squeaks or murmurs with his vocal chords (ex: “squeak” “mmm” “urrr”). Personality: Ever since he lost his mouth, he’s been randomly lashing out at times because he’s still dealing with the trauma of losing the only way for him to naturally speak. He’s also a bit shy and slightly jumpy. He has trypophobia (or the fear of holes) for reasons that we’ll get to in the very next segment. Backstory: Sonic has just turned 15 when he was battling Eggman as usual. Eggman was trying to use a giant mech to push Angel Island to the ground so he could steal the Master Emerald easier. When suddenly, as Sonic charged towards Eggman, Eggman activated a spear mechanism on his mech and pierced Sonic directly through the mouth. Everyone watching was completely shocked and scared that Sonic had actually died as Eggman tossed his pierced body down to the ground. Eventually, he was defeated, but everyone else left Sonic where he landed, thinking he was as good as dead. But later that night, Sonic came to and ran all the way back to Tails’ lab as fast as he could, blood oozing from his mouth as he ran faster and faster to his destination. When he got there and Tails let him in, Sonic tried to ask Tails for help, but he couldn't speak at all due to the severe injury he took through the mouth. Luckily, Tails gets the idea anyway and works tirelessly to try and fix Sonic up and patch his wounds. After some intense surgery, the back of Sonic’s head and where his mouth used to be when he got pierced were completely stitched up to prevent rot and the spread of infection. After a few hours, the stitches and the marks they left on his face completely faded away, leaving Sonic with just a face without a mouth. Tails asked if he could teach him sign language and that he could be his translator when he needed to talk to anyone else, and Sonic agreed. But then there was also the problem of how Sonic would even eat to survive. Tails did some more inventing and produced a container of cream that is packed with every nutrient, vitamin, and mineral the Mobian body needs to survive in very high amounts. Tails advises Sonic to rub it on his chest if he’s feeling hungry and his body will absorb the cream and the stuff that comes with it so that he won’t die of starvation. It doesn’t have a taste to it, however. But that doesn’t matter, since Sonic can’t taste anything anymore anyways. And now he’s spending his life in Mobius at the age of 16, still adjusting to life without a mouth in his possession, but thankful he’s still alive to be able to adjust to anything in the first place.
