Foxspeaker is an End Tales cat created by me for the FireClan role-play and then adapted for the End Tales story. She was born in FireClan to Shrewtail and Falconstar along with her sister Ravenkit. Not long after, the medicine cat Glademeadow noticed that she behaved differently than the other kits in the nursery, and told their parents that her “brain was wired differently than the other kits”. In her early life she struggled with the other kits excluding her from their games and treating her differently, especially her own sister, who would later grow to be one of FireClan’s greatest prodigies. Ravenkit never meant to be mean or malicious, she was just trying to help Foxkit. She was apprenticed to Sunnysong, because her father thought that she might be patient and understanding enough for the eccentric Foxkit. However, there was a bad bout of greencough that infected a lot of the cats, and while Sunnysong was sick she ordered that Tanglefur be her temporary mentor. Her father very much disapproved of this, but Sunnysong was insistent. Even when Sunnysong recovered, they both continued to train her together, and it was Tanglefur who suggested Foxpaw’s warrior name. Foxspeaker was a brilliant hunter, but no one seemed to be able to look past her disability. A while after being made a warrior she participated in Sparrowleaf’s Patrol, an event when much of FireClan fell ill and she, along with the mother-and-daughter pair of Sparrowleaf and Snaketail, and a queen named Feathertail who participated in the patrol only because her kits were only a quarter of a moon away from becoming apprentices and everyone else was sick. On the patrol they encountered a den of badgers. Foxspeaker was told to run and get help, and Feathertail did not survive the encounter. A couple moons later Falconstar was lost in a mysterious incident with a dark cat and Foxspeaker’s sister Ravenclaw was made Ravenstar, with the warrior Ashwing her deputy. In a battle with TreeClan, Foxspeaker watched the warrior and former mate of Feathertail Thornfang bring about the end of Sparrowleaf and Snaketail, revealing that he had also been responsible for Falconstar and was after the members of Sparrowleaf’s patrol. Later Foxspeaker was tricked by Thornfang into believing she had seen wrong in the stressful heat of the battle and into believing that he loved her. When she started kitting their kits, he turned on her, although the clan was able to stop him and get Foxspeaker to safety. Sadly, one kit, who she would later call Leafkit in her head, was taken by her father's jaws before she could take her first breath. The other three kits Foxspeaker named in this order (the other cats thought that it was just Foxspeaker’s ‘weirdness’ that made their names so strange) Livingkit, Dirtykit, and Bloodykit, because some of her blood had gotten on her last born kit and they could never wash it off. Not long after she fell for the warrior Woodfang, who got his warriors name from protecting Foxspeaker from Thornfang. Her kits grew up with Woodfang as their adoptive father. Bloodykit was found to be born mute and later became a medicine cat apprentice, for he had an exceptional connection to the spirits of cats who had passed on. Later, when the forest was terrorized and the clans forced out, Foxspeaker stayed with the Sisters for a while. There she met a tom named Laurel who was nose blind, so he wasn’t allowed to hunt. They fell in love, but eventually Foxspeaker decided that she needed to return to the clans where her kits were. There, she had another litter of kits, two she-kits named Icekit and Streamkit, although it’s unknown if they were Woodfang or Laurel’s kits. She continued to help other queens with their kits, although never officially becoming a permanent queen. She continued to serve under Maplestar, Darkstar, Floodstar and Swiftstar. The second of her kits to pass away would be Icewing, who fell in battle jumping in front of her mother as a deadly blow was delivered. After her, Streamtail was lost during kitting after having many litters where the kits never survived. Bloodyfur later gave up his life in a sacrifice, and Livingpool was blackmailed by her father Thornfang from the Dark Forest into doing terrible things, eventually joining him in the Place of No Stars. Dirtyclaw was the last of her kits to pass on, many seasons after Foxspeaker. Foxspeaker eventually passed away from old age, with only her son Dirtyclaw still living at the time.
