~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Your nature is not violent, but your circumstance may be, and you do have sharp teeth, but none of it matters anyway.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tytopaw was not born a member of Driftclan; though she had never known any other life. She was born in Ridgeclan during the early tension between the Clans, when the borders were first beginning to be challenged, when patrols frequently crossed paths. When Tytopaw was barely a moon old, still small enough that memory could not quite solidify itself yet, she was stolen from her clan by a Driftclan feline. They had never intended it, originally. They had been scouting the camp, lathered in ocean mud to mask their scent, observing the activities of the felines. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She had caught sight of them, and confused, she had made noise. She was snatched away before she could make too loud a racket. It was a stir of the moment. A sudden decision. The patrol cut short, a kit in maw, the patrol returned to their territory. She did not keep many memories of her original clan. The smell of craggy walls, the dusty smell, a faint smell of marigold… those were the memories of her life before that she had. The rest faded easily, slipped away the longer she remained in Driftclan. Saltstar told her, told the clan, that she was a rogue kit left behind. She would of starved if she was left there, he persuaded. The story given so convincingly that there was no question of it, her origin only truly known by the patrol itself, and Saltstar. To Tyto, Driftclan saved her life. And Saltstar was the cat who gave her a future. She was checked on here and there in her kithood by the leader, as all leaders must know the next generation of apprentices. To a cat who believed she belonged to the wild, who believed that the cats who were meant to care for her did not, the attention gave her hope. Tyto did not only come to appreciate Saltstar as a leader, but as a parental figure- though she would never admit it aloud. Now as an apprentice, she strives to train as hard as she can, eager to prove her worth to her clanmates, eager to prove that taking her in would not be a mistake. Pride burned in her chest whenever she did things right. And though so appreciative of her clanmates… Tyto does wonder, sometimes, while she learns the territory… which spot did they find her as a kit? Where was she left? Was there any trace of her parents? Were they… still out there?
