The EMFAF - 3 or the “Horsefly” as it’s commonly dubbed. Is a cheap mass producible fixed wing unmanned aircraft chassis developed by HEX incorporated to be used in a multitude of purposes. These uses include, reconnaissance, saturation bombing, deception of air defenses, and naval operations. Stats: Fuselage width: 8 inches Wingspan: 9.6ft Wingspan(lifting tail): 5ft Operational range(powered flight): 360km Operational range(hybrid flight): 660km Fuselage length: 4.6ft Top speed(powered): 180km/h Top speed(glide): 80km/h on avg but environmental factors can change this Course correction count: 105 on avg Climb height: 2.5km Glide ratio 20:1 Weight(only includes sensors, batteries, and mechanics essential for flight): 5.4kg Other features commonly included: basic spoofing protection such as faraday cages Cost: 10,500 USD Flight behavior: After a catapult assisted take off(or deployment from ships and aircraft) they will glide towards their destination only using their engines for course corrections along the way. Once they enter within a few hundred feet of their target they will rapidly accelerate and detonate upon impact. Spoofing protection: Cheap faraday cages meant to nullify spoofing instead of outright stopping it. Now if the aircraft’s guidance has been disabled it will continue towards its last assigned location. If this system is to fail too, the aircraft will either self destruct, or turn around and attempt to head back to the area it was launched from.
This design is actually original btw, I didn’t base it of an IRL aircraft :D note: as this is mainly a glider based drone various things such as operational range and top speed can be influenced by environmental factors. Also EMFAF - 3 means Expendable, Modular, Fixed wing, Air Frame. As this is actually a family of platforms and the EMFAF is the base airframe which all the other platforms are based off.
