Uh sorry guys im not doing pings don't ask "-_- [continued from project] Coralsun watched Minkreed, silenced by her unusually intense hiss. She heard a soft squeak and looked down to find a small brown mouse scurrying quietly on the floor. When it realized it had been seen, it almost looked like it's expression was saying "Crap". Before it could get away, though, Coralsun slid out her claws and slammed her paw onto the mouse, oofing it instantly. She slid the fresh-kill into Lakekit's paws, who squealed in delight and began gnawing on it enthusiastically. "Minkreed," Coralsun reasoned, turning her head towards her former friend again. "You need to talk to Cedarkit. A mother would-" "Are you saying I'm no mother?" Minkreed asked dangerously, looming over her. "Wha-no," Coralsun faltered. "I-I didn't mean i-" Minkreed let out a laugh. It was a laugh without humor, a raspy laugh. She smiled darkly, insanely as she leaned close to the medic. "I'M no mother?!" She grinned wickedly. "You're the motherless one, CORAL." Coralsun flattened her ears as Lakekit squeaked fearfully and buried her head into her the pink she-cat's leg. "I LOVED you," Minkreed snarled. "I could have given you EVERYTHING." She slid out her claws and scribbled the shape of a hauntingly familiar cat from Coralsun's past in the dirt. "But you chose *him* instead. The STUPID TOM who got himself oofed five moons after you became mates." She raised her paw and slamed it on top of the drawing, her claws digging into the ground. Coralsun cried "Don't disrespect Warmhollow!" "*Really*?" Minkreed half-hissed half-questioned mockingly. "You think I *care* about him?" She snarled furiously. "HE TOKE *EVERYTHING* FROM ME." She turned her glare to Coralsun, though faltering slightly. Unexpectedly, though, tears started to form in her eyes. "And that everything was *you*," she whispered, falling to sitting. She sat there for a moment, wading in her sadness, before she suddenly righted herself and looked at Coralsun with new flames of fury in her eyes. "And THEN, you gave me a tom who might've actually been worth it," she growled. She stopped suddenly, looking at the sky thoughtfully. "Ebonyheart," she wondered aloud. Then, she looked back, just the same as a few moments before. "But then he fell off a dumb stupid cliff during a dumb stupid fight, and got really hurt. And then I brought him back, trusting you one more time, and despite you he DIED. HOW COINCIDENTAL." "I told you," Coralsun cried. "I tried to save him! He was too fatally injured!" Minkreed, seemingly unaware of the medicine cat's response, plowed on angrily. "And then he left me with a kit - now two - to take care of BY MYSELF. AND YOU *STILL* WON'T HELP ME." Coralsun stared at the ground. /Don't let her push you around like this!/ her mind cried. /You've told he over and over again. Just tell her one more time!/ Coralsun silently stood up. "Minkreed," she hissed. "HOW MANY MOUSE-DUNG TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS ONE PHRASE THAT YOU CAN'T GET THROUGH YOUR *STUPID* THICK SKULL?!" Coralsun lunged in so close she and Minkreed's nose were barely a mouse-length away. "I DON'T WANT TO BE YOUR MATE." Minkreed stared at her for a moment, taken aback. "NOW GET OUT," the medic hissed. Her former friend frowned and stepped away. "Fine," she growled. "I don't want to be in this dump any longer, anyway. Bring her back when you're finished." Minkreed turned around in a swirl of black and ginger fur and was gone. [end]
