(The events of this story take place shortly after the death of Odasaku.) SPOILERS FOR S2! Osamu Dazai sat in his room, thinking about the words Odasaku had said before he had passed. "I know my friends better than anyone else..." There was no possible way he could bring himself to leave the port mafia. This is where he was raised, everything he knew was from the Port Mafia. He was trained to kill, not save. But deep down, he knew Odasaku was right. He did know him better than most people- except Mori of course. He stared at the ashy gray ceiling of his dorm. There were many things to consider. First, he’d have to wipe all of his records, so clean not even the greatest detective could find anything. Second, he’d have to put effort. Dazai hated effort. He sat up with a sigh, there really was no easy way out of this. He wanted to fulfill Oda’s dying wish, yet he just didn’t think he was the man for the job. He wasn’t fit to save people, he’d only had experience in killing them. He stared at his hand for a moment, thinking about it. He could join another organization, but it would be a long time before he would be able to change his mindset. To be able to join, let alone help others. On the other hand, he could stay with the Port Mafia, ignoring what Oda had said to him. Another thing to note is that Mori would definitely send out a search for him. Sure, Yokohama isn’t exactly small, but the Port Mafia has members that excel in tracking. He would have to be very cautious with his moves. He would also have to wipe everything on his record, twice. Finally, he made a decision- he was going to leave the port mafia. He would fulfill his friend’s dying wish. Then, maybe he could find his reason to live. Hi! Sorry for the short “chapter.” This is only a prologue, and it’s more of background for the story. I’ve never written a fanfic before, so this might be really really bad. I hope you can bear with me as the series continues. Please let me know what you think! ^^
