This is kind of messy, sorry in advance. Introduction: Hello, my name’s Ky. I’ve been in GWDFI since late 2023, and I joined DBD in either November or December of 2025. My time zone is Pacific Standard (PST). I’m 15. I'm enthusiastic about a variety of topics, including JRPGs, punk rock, assorted manga, literature in general, and more. My main goal right now is to work towards a full scholarship to study science. I haven’t had any other managing roles on here or offsite, but I’m passionate about what I do and determined to make a change. I'm dedicated to providing a space where creative communities can thrive. I'm extremely passionate about what I do, and once I start something, I rarely give up. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say I'm around a 7 or 8 in terms of activity. I'm mostly available during school hours, from 8 AM-4 PM. Why I’m Applying: I’d like to apply for this position because I want to contribute to the studio I love so much. The community here has given me a sense of belonging when I’ve felt alone, but like every studio, issues arise. I'd like to contribute to maintainig a welcoming environment for everyone who comes here. I think I'd fit this role because I'm grounded and rational. I value reasoning and logic. I think the studio could value from this approach because a lot of conflicts here stem from emotional conflicts- having a dose of rationality can balance out the decisions made within the studio. I'm also dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space where people can express themselves. DBD has always had a strong sense of originality and spirit, and as manager, I would work to protect this essence. Qualifications: - Rational and logical approach. I value reason, and I believe that this will greatly contribute to the studio (since most conflicts here are emotional). - I'm on the nicher side in DBD, but I believe this brings a unique perspective to the studio. I understand what's going on outside of the main groups. - Neutral perspective. As I mentioned before, I take a rational approach. I'm less likely to be influenced by friends and other forms of bias in decision-making. - I'm an avid listener, and I value other people's opinions. - I'm usually an independent worker, but I function well in teams. - I'm very passionate about what I do. I'm devoted to my cause, and I don't get sidetracked easily. - I value change! Rules must adapt to match changing environments. Downsides: - I can come off as sarcastic or dry to some people. I try to clarify my tone when I speak, but I have accidentally offended people before. - I can be passive at times, and might not speak my message clearly. - I take a lot of responsibility upon myself, and hold myself up to harsh standards. - I'm not the best with words sometimes- I used to struggle with speaking and empathizing with others. It's gotten better now, but I might come off as uninterested. - I'm pretty unknown in the community here. - I can mostly be online only during school hours (8-4) Ideas For Improving: - The main problem I've noticed within the studio comes from interpersonal drama and reply culture. - The first issue is harder to solve, since interpersonal conflicts never quite go away. People have friends here, and of course, they want to talk about things that have happened to them. I believe everyone has a chance to speak their mind, but people still need to think before they speak. This includes vagueposting, targeting other users, and more. Honestly, most of these conflicts are petty. If people can handle their conflicts maturely and speak to each other, there will be much less issues. - I also don't believe the managers have to carry all of the responsibility for the studio's well-being- curators need to contribute to the studio's environment as well. - Replies are a harder topic to discuss, since we can't guarantee that everyone gets a reply. I do believe we can advocate and politely ask for support, rather than guilt-tripping people. This is a major issue I've seen lately. Again, it's harder to address since it's chronic, but I do believe that curators can help solve this problem. - Overall, I believe that curators should take more responsibility, to balance the workload among the managers. Other Notes: I don't have a full stance on the voting situation currently, but I believe would make a great manager. Will has helped many members throughout the studio, he has always been friendly and supportive, and overall, is a very responsible candidate. Like myself, I believe would bring a great perspective to the studio due to his rational and grounded approach. Yochu is a good friend of mine, so I may be biased, but he meshes well with the current managerial team as well. has also been an active member of the community for a long time, I believe Céline's experience will greatly benefit the studio's well-being. Again, he's also been a good friend of mine for a while.
The thumnail is the album cover of I Don't Want To Grow Up by The Descendents (great band, you should listen to them).
