✦ KYOUCHI KUTOU ✦ six moons • loner • he / him ₊˚✦₊˚ “the bell above the shop door jingles, and in strolls the pretzel boy with honey on his grin.” ₊˚✦₊˚ Life is a dessert counter. Some cats stare too hard at the nutrition facts. Some refuse to eat at all. Kyouchi? He samples everything. If it tastes sweet, he takes another bite. If it burns his tongue, he laughs it off and reaches for something else. The world has teeth in it— he knows that much— but pretending life is all bitterness just seems like a waste of sugar. He wanders like a shop that never quite closes— always open, always drifting, never staying in one place for long. Drifting between paths, stories, and trouble with a lazy grin stuck to his face like melted caramel. Cats meet him, share a moment, maybe a laugh… and then he’s gone again before anyone can rely on him. At least, that’s the story he tells. Because if nobody expects anything from you, then you can’t disappoint them. And disappointment? That’s the one flavor he refuses to serve. [“Relax, honeybun. If the world ends, I’ll apologize later.”] ₊˚ notes -loner, travels frequently -shows up randomly and leaves just as quickly -pretends to be unreliable so others never expect too much from him -gives food-based nicknames (shortstack, honey, sugarcube, spicy, etc.) -often “borrows” things or sneaks into places just to see what happens -will absolutely push chores or responsibility onto others -weirdly kind to small or helpless things (bugs, injured animals, sad cats) -crashes into sleep wherever exhaustion catches him -speaks casually with a teasing tone, even during serious moments -voice claims: Jax (TADC), mixed with Boothill as he gets older (HSR) -Scent: Chocolate, cinnamon, strawberries -ref: (non existent but here is his application link for more personality rambles: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1259720900 ) [“Shortstack, life’s too short to chew on the bitter stuff.”] ✦ general dynamics ✦ (unlimited slots) ₊˚ “the open bakery door” passing friendships • wandering companions Some cats drift through Kyouchi’s life the way customers drift through a bakery— stopping for a moment, sharing a story, then heading off again. These are cats he runs into occasionally on the road or at the edges of territories. There’s laughter, teasing, maybe a shared hunt or a short adventure. Nothing too heavy. Kyouchi likes these relationships. They’re light. Temporary. Sweet while they last. And when he disappears again, neither of you have to pretend it wasn’t always going to happen. ₊˚ “burnt sugar” friction • irritation • rivalry Not everyone appreciates Kyouchi’s carefree philosophy. This cat sees straight through his lazy grin and finds it infuriating. Maybe they think he’s irresponsible. Maybe they think he’s lying. Maybe they just hate the way he refuses to take anything seriously. Arguments are common between them. Kyouchi never quite fights back properly— he jokes, shrugs, reframes things until the other cat feels like they’re arguing with a wall made of caramel. Which only makes them angrier. ₊˚ “the borrowed spoon” uneasy alliance This is a cat Kyouchi ends up working with occasionally despite neither of them planning to. Maybe they hunt together sometimes. Maybe they watch each other’s backs in risky situations. Maybe survival simply keeps pushing them into the same places. Kyouchi teases them constantly, but there’s an unspoken understanding that if something truly dangerous appears… He’ll step in. Just don’t expect him to stick around afterward. ₊˚ “the candy jar secret” someone who glimpses the real him Most cats see Kyouchi as a lazy wanderer who can’t be relied on. This cat starts noticing the cracks. They see the moments where Kyouchi suddenly becomes sharp, observant, protective. They realize the unserious persona might be… deliberate. Kyouchi will dodge questions, change subjects, or vanish entirely if they push too hard. But sometimes he lingers a little longer around them than he means to. ₊˚ “sugar crash” chaos companion This cat enables Kyouchi’s worst impulses. Sneaking places they shouldn’t. Stealing food. Exploring dangerous areas for fun. Together they’re a walking disaster. However, if anyone asks whose fault it was… Kyouchi will absolutely direct the blame toward himself first with a lazy shrug and a grin. “What’d you expect from me?” With his track record of mischief, most cats accept that answer immediately.
[“Aw c’mon now, don’t look at me like that. I just borrowed it. Borrowin’ implies I might give it back someday.”] ✦ specific dynamics ✦ ₊˚ “the cracked teacup” quiet understanding • gentle friendship | 0/3 This cat is calm where Kyouchi is restless. They don’t chase him. They don’t demand promises. When Kyouchi shows up, they simply accept his presence. When he leaves, they don’t hold it against him. For reasons Kyouchi doesn’t quite understand, he finds himself returning to them more often than anyone else. Their conversations are slow and quiet— the kind that feel like sitting in a warm bakery late at night. ₊˚ “the sticky honey trap” someone who refuses to let him slip away | 0/3 Most cats eventually accept that Kyouchi drifts in and out of their lives. This one doesn’t. They keep showing up again. Keep dragging him into things. Keep expecting him to stay. Kyouchi finds this deeply uncomfortable… and weirdly fascinating. Because for the first time, someone is treating him like he’s worth holding onto. [this can shift to a rivalry, friendship, or maybe toxic platonic/romantic relationship, all of the dynamic in this project are flexible] ₊˚ “the sour candy rival” competitive tension | 0/1 This cat constantly challenges Kyouchi. Maybe they’re a hunter trying to prove he’s lazy. Maybe they think his attitude is dangerous. Kyouchi treats their rivalry like a game. They treat it like a mission. The tension between them is sharp, sarcastic, and very entertaining for anyone watching. ₊˚ “the midnight bakery” rare vulnerability | 0/1 Late at night, when the world is quiet and Kyouchi is too tired to keep up the act… He talks. Not much. Not clearly. But this cat ends up hearing pieces of the things Kyouchi normally hides— his fears about failing others, his strange philosophy about worth, and why he tries so hard to make himself seem unreliable. The next morning he’ll pretend none of it happened. ₊˚ “the honeyed promise” slow trust / possible future romance | 0/1 This cat slowly earns Kyouchi’s trust over time. He still jokes. Still disappears sometimes. But they’re one of the few cats whose promises he actually tries to keep. Their relationship would develop slowly, full of teasing, arguments, and quiet moments where Kyouchi accidentally reveals how much he cares. ₊˚ “the broken jar” someone who relied on him once | 0/1 At some point, this cat trusted Kyouchi. Maybe they believed one of his promises. Maybe they depended on him during something important. And Kyouchi didn’t show up. Maybe it was intentional. Maybe it wasn’t. Either way, the trust shattered. Now whenever they meet, there’s tension between them— unfinished words, bitterness, maybe even guilt Kyouchi refuses to acknowledge. He’ll still grin. But it sticks a little less easily when they’re around. [“What’d you expect from me? I’m a pretzel, honey. Bit twisted by design.”] [⚠ NOTE: Feel free to suggest dynamics of your own, or shift some things around, i'm fine with literally anything, rivalries, bromances, platonic, romantic ((tho see below for romance)) found family, etc!] [⚠ NOTE: Kyouchi will not pursue romantic plots until he is at least 10 moons old. Any relationships before then will remain platonic or early-stage development.] [design by @sstarmilk] [character quotes and art by @Rain-Whisper, pictures from red pin app] [rp: TFCRP]
