I've been using Scratch for over 6 years, making my first personal account (@Ragnar33) near the end of the Pre-Covid era. Since then, I've developed hundreds of games, gained thousands of followers, and grew my block-coding skills to an impressive level. I've poured entire months into coding, even spending nearly two years making one game (The Chaos Factory) with a friend. I've made friends on Scratch, watched friends leave Scratch, and made new friends again. It's a truly special community, but as I grow older, I often find myself wondering: what's next? At first, I thought this meant transitioning to publishing games on Itch and moving toward a more advanced game engine, like Godot. But my interest in this fizzled out, and I found, like time and time again, myself drawn back to the unparalleled magic of Scratch and the amazing community that came with it. Moving into 2026, as life got more busy, I found myself with less time to invest in Scratch. I wasn't making games as often, and was less active in the community than I had used to be. I've moved on to other hobbies - including starting my own online e-commerce company (which I'll share a link to her on Scratch when it's ready:) ). So, I'll probably be spending less time on Scratch going into 2026, which will be a gradual but big change. I've been active on this account since it's very beginning, and while there have been periods of growth and decline, I've always remained invested in Scratch and its community. This is the first time I've really acknowledged that I will, in fact, be moving on. When I feel the spark, I'll drop by and make a new game, but I won't time releases and pre-plan like I had been for years. So... what can you expect from me? I'll definitely still check back in on Scratch now and then - I don't have the heart to completely leave this site which has been so monumentally changing to me for a huge portion of my life. I plan to share what I've been up to outside of Scratch from time to time as well, and like I mentioned, I'll even try to code some fun new games if I ever think of an idea. But I unfortunately won't be hosting game competitions or other events in the near future, and I won't be focused on scale and growing my follower base anymore. Thank you for reading this far, and know that this is an incredible site with a powerful coding engine and even more powerful community. Scratch is a place to be cherished, and is one of the greatest stepping stones into a world of creativity. Never let the magic of Scratch leave you - obsessing over followers might do it, and if making games feels like a chore, than you're not enjoying the true essence of what Scratch is about: fostering a love of coding, meeting new people, and building a community. I'll see you around - feel free to stop by and say hi now and then. Keep on Scratching on!
Thank you to all the amazing people that have been such a huge part of my Scratch journey. I'll start with those who were extremely influential to me as a Scratcher from the start, many of whom have long stopped using this site: first and foremost, @FalconWorks for being the #1 Scratch partner in the world (we made 3 games together, including the Chaos Factory!) @AuroraHorizons for being an amazing friend on and off Scratch, especially during our peak in 2022-2023. Thank you to @Blue_Pumpkin for being an awesome Scratcher and even mentioning me in a video, thank you to @charliebm2011 for always supporting me in and out of Scratch, thank you to @griffpatch (yes, quite the underground scratcher) for his tutorials that taught me how to code, thank you also to @warfame, @SHIFTCLICKLEARN for their tutorials as well (and to @warfame for loving the chaos factory!), thanks to @ScratchTeam for featuring my Geologic Timeline project, thanks to @RADICALBLAST to being such a great manager of our What's Not On Trending™ studio, as well as @DustyDogCat, @random_dude_2, @RoadOcean, and @Nitro_Tom, thanks to the legends of the old Scratch days like @Polipo_25, @theCharpy, and @ErstazElevator, @piyj for letting me make them a logo, @eshkrish, @XaosKing, and many more for joining the Golden Gobo, all the people I'm currently following who make the most awesome games ever, @finnagin5 for their absolutely mindblowing Rubber Bandit and unparalleled wisdom, @miclack for their crazy level of underrated-ness, @s_federici for sticking around on this site for so long, all the wonderful curators of What's Not On Trending™, @LegoCoder9 for their amazing support and kindness, @TheAngryNote for being my #1 superfan (and destroying the leaderboard on Random Bounce), all the participants of the Pass the Game and Golden Gobos, and every single one of my 3356 followers for being part of my journey. Kudos to every single one of the 150K+ people who played and enjoyed the Chaos Factory, and the thousands of others who played a game, left a comment, or just said hi.
