The DLM - 1 or vampire fly as it is commonly called. Is a cheap expendable loitering munition developed by Aperture aeronautics and defense to be used in saturation bombing and reconnaissance missions. Battery endurance for powered flight: 40 minutes Fuselage width: 9 inches Fuselage length: 2.6ft Wingspan: 4.6ft Wing type: high aspect ratio glider Deployment methods: catapults, being thrown, being deployed by larger drones, and being deployed by transport craft Top speed powered: 70km//h Top speed glide: 30 - 50km/h Operational range: 47km Cost: 9,800 USD per unit(10,200 for munition variants) Flight behavior: after take off the aircraft will glide a few hundred feet above the ground for most of its travel time. Only using its engine to maintain altitude and for occasional course corrections. And depending on its mission it will either rapidly accelarate once reaching within a few hundred feet of its target before detonating on impact. Or it will simply turn around and return to its airfield after recording or taking images of its target.
