introduction: hi! I'm mostly known as Chai, although I go by Jasper or Rohan as well. I'm a Christian and queer, and use he/any pronouns. I'm really into Alien Stage and Bungou Stray Dogs, and have an incredibly eclectic music taste that includes Small Towns Burn a Little Slower, Conan Gray, natori, and AKUGETSU. I've been a member of dbd since not too long after it was first created, although I've only been an active member since September 2025. my timezone is cst and I'm in the 14-17 age range. why I want to manage dbd: this studio has been meaningful to me recently. it's where most of my friends are, and it's usually a very friendly community that I enjoy hanging out in. however, it of course has its faults, and lately the faults have been increasingly obvious and overshadowed other aspects of the studio. my hope as a manager would be to help improve the studio, support the other managers, and help create a safe, comfortable, and fun studio environment. why I'd be a good manager: I'm frequently in both gaehive and dbd. these studios often argue with each other, and I'm hoping that as a dbd manager, I'd be able to help settle the arguments at least somewhat. another advantage of me being a gaehivian is easier communication between the two studios. I would likely be able to interact with members and managers of gaehive more easily, as someone they already know. I'm somewhat older than the average age in dbd, as far as I'm aware. this could be a downside, but it's also a good thing. being older *TENDS* to lead to being more mature--this isn't a strict rule, and doesn't mean that younger applicants wouldn't be great managers, just a generalisation that I believe applies to me. I'm not involved in any drama between dbders, so I won't be on one side or the other of any conflicts. I'm fairly good at keeping personal issues out of things where they don't belong, and would resolve any issue I'm having with another user outside of the studio, avoiding bringing it up in dbd entirely. downsides to me being a manager: as I said earlier, I'm somewhat older than the average age in dbd. this could also be a downside, because it means that I would be able to spend less time as a manager than other users. I'm planning to mostly leave the site once I leave high school, since I'd just be too old to really stay on a kids coding site. I go to a summer camp that doesn't allow too much time on devices, meaning I will be very infrequently available for the entire month of July. I have had some mental health issues lately. while this only happens occasionally, and I'm able to avoid making overly negative posts online, it could definitely negatively affect my competency as a manager during negative moments. being in school, I of course have to do schoolwork. I've already been balancing schoolwork with dbd as a curator, but managing would require more time, and there is a chance that I would not always be able to put in that time. **do bear in mind that the last 2 cons to me being manager aren't constant issues!** ideas for improving the studio: - communicating with gaehive managers, listening to their suggestions and implementing feedback they have for us. gaehive has been a chatroom studio for far longer than dbd, and has gained wisdom and strategies from their experience that will be helpful to us. - increased manager communication. as a curator, I'm not entirely sure how the managing team communicates, but I would suggest we have discussions as a team at least once or twice a week. this is in order to improve communication, keep all managers on the same page, and ensure we're aware of anything going on with the managing team and the studio. availability/activity: usually a 6-7/10. yeah yeah six seven I'm being fr here. maybe a 5 on bad days. unavailable in July due to summer camp. that's all for my manager application bye chat and good luck to everyone applying! Chai out the song is Rx (Drive) by Small Towns Burn a Little Slower btw ✌
