1: ________________________________________ Dear, Abel I have no clue if you want to hear from me right now, but I wanted to apologize for how we left things that night you left for Colorado. I’m sorry for lashing out when you needed me to be supportive of you. I really miss you and so does Evelyn. Kiara hardly remembers you anymore. Maybe if you forgive me one day you’ll come visit. Sincerely, Bailey Mae ‘No, No, No.” I said to myself, crumpling up the paper. I sat there staring at the empty sheet of paper I pulled from my notebook in my attempt to write to him again. “He wouldn’t even want to hear from me.” I muttered to myself as my 12 year old sister Evelyn walked into my room. “Hey Bails, where is my computer at? I need it for homework.” “No clue” I said as I was stuffing the note into my trashcan. “Ok…. So who was that note for?” “No one Evelyn, and stop being nosy.” Evelyn ran and started towards my trashcan. I tried to grab her before she got there, but she was too fast. She picked it up, but I grabbed it before she could read and ripped it into tiny pieces. I wanted to shrink into the floor at that moment because I knew ripping up a stupid note and hiding it from my 12 year old sister was dumb, and made me look like a baby. “Sorry Bailey!” "No need to apologize, I made a big deal out of something small, but you should probably head to bed before mom gets home.” “Yeah.” “Yeah. See you in the morning, love you.” “You too” With that she walked out the door. We both knew what would happen if mom got home and saw or heard us out of bed. Long screaming matches that always ended up with whatever reason my mom was mad about that night, being our fault. I couldn’t wait to turn 18 in 3 years. I was pulled out of my day dreaming by my 5 year old sister Kiara yelling for me. I had no clue what she needed but I needed to hurry as my mother arrived home in less than 30 minutes. I started down the hall to her room. “Hey Kiara, what’s up you need to sleep little one.” “Mama home?” She asked in the sweetest voice ever “Not yet” “Ok, night night sissy” “Ok goodnight” These subtle interactions made my day so much better after dealing with teachers, tests, drama, grades, and literally everything else that went on throughout my normal 8 hour school day. I needed to send him a letter. I doubt he would reply or even open the envelope once he saw who it was from. I don’t know that I would either. Sure, I miss him but I don’t think we were ever gonna last. But it was hard flipping the page knowing he wouldn’t be in the next chapter.
I'll have chapter two out probably sometime later today. I have 2 done but i'm working on getting it edited.
