Hello! This is just a little guide for making litters, because there are a few rules you need to follow. i. Requirements for a litter To make a litter you must do a few things: - You must have a registered character that is at least 24 moons old. - You need a mate of the opposite biological gender, and must have been with them for at least two irl weeks. (that means being together/being mates, not knowing each other) - If you have a gay couple, no NPC surrogates are allowed! You may have a surrogate though - You need to ask your mate inrp if they would like to have kits with you. ii. Label your litter! Please label your litter project so people can easily find what they are looking for and there is no confusion. For example, somebody gets a kit and register him/her with PuddleClan storage, and roleplay a few threads before the host tells them they were supposed to have a MeadowClan cat the whole time! Then they have to discard any friendships, EXP, and age, and register with Meadow storage. Then they are younger than their siblings and everyone is confused :P Please see the litter hub studio for litter labels. iii. Realistic names These cats live in the wilderness! They don't know the names of human items, foods, events, etc. so please name accordingly! Examples: You aren't allowed to name your kits Dinosaurkit, Coffeekit, or Paintkit, however you could call these same kits Fossilkit, Cocoakit/Beankit and Rainbowkit/Visagekit. If you have any questions about what names are allowed or need help, let me know! As for kittypets, loners, etc. please follow the rules in the unclaimed lands studio description! iv. Disabilities There are a few rules regarding disabilities: First, research is required by the applicant for any disabilities or abnormalities a cat has, unless it will not affect anything they do (like heterochromia doesn't need research). You must have something about kits being disabled somewhere on your project, and the applicant must know about it before they apply. Second, you have to research any disabilities you give the kits yourself, so you understand how to appropriately depict it and roleplay alongside it. Third, ABSOLUTELY NO "cosmetic" disabilities. These disabilities are still allowed but please, PLEASE be aware of what they do to the characters, and depict them appropriately. For more information please see this project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1285699023/ Fourth, do not name your kits after their disabilities, like Cloudedkit for someone blind or Hopkit/Limpkit for a kit with one missing leg. This extends to bobtails for a character named Rabbitkit, Deerkit, Fawnkit, etc. I have seen the bobtail thing SO MANY times on other roleplays, and it drives me CRAZY. Fifth, you cannot name your kit after a famous RP cat or a canon cat and give them the same disability, like if you had Cinderkit with a limp or missing a leg. This won't make them "destined" to be great or anything like that, and ngl it's really annoying. Lastly, to prevent disability obsession or coveting like the current issues in Generations, there is a limit to how many kits can be disabled. If you have 3 or more kits at least one has to have no disabilities, and for every two more you add after that one can't have disabilities. This leads to a max of about 60% disabled kits in large litters. I mean, realistically if you have quintuplets, all five are not going to have disabilities. :| Also, you can hardly ever find a litter with no disabilities these days, when only about 7% of cats are born disabled. And a lot of people who get the disability don't respectfully show it, or in a lot of cases show it at all which defeats the purpose of even adding one :( v.
