So, I’ve been thinking about Delarthur a lot (just saying), and the one thing I put my mind on is that it might be a problematic ship. Yes, they’re both fully-grown, not biologically related, and neither are animals, but you can see that Arthur is visibly older than Delilah (look at the wrinkles around his mouth). However, when you look at Bobette’s picture with Arthur, there are no wrinkles and the grayish stripes on his hair are shorter and thinner, signifying that he was younger than he was depicted in the tossed picture in the warehouse we associate with his appearance. And for Delilah, the lighter stripes in her hair have been there since the start (the footage with Dandy meeting Pebble) and she’s never had wrinkles, even in the warehouse picture. We can safely assume that Arthur is older than Delilah, which is ok if the gap is small (a few years at max probably), but problematic if it’s too big. I know their ages are unconfirmed as of now, but they might get confirmed in the future, and if the gap is too big, Delarthur will be classed as a problematic ship, and that would be bad news for all the normal, morally good Delarthur shippers. I don’t ship it right now, but I’m contemplating and the first thing I have to decide is whether it’s problematic, because if it is problematic and I was shipping it, I would have to carry around a wad of guilt, and my reputation would be heavily tainted, and of course I don’t want that. I have now decided that I will NOT ship it until confirmation that it is acceptable, just to be safe. Also, to ruin headcanons and to just state my opinion, Delilah and Arthur are most likely NOT CANONICALLY MARRIED. If they were, they would have likely shared the last name Walton. Also no ships are canon in DW so..
