The Polytopes Song produced out of Scratch noteblocks. It's been so long since I noteblocked my own music (Potomac Cruise in 2021) that I figured it's time to do it again. ^^ Approx. run time: 4' 04" *Turbo mode (shift+clicking the green flag) recommended! Sheet music: https://www.noteflight.com/music/titles/fc81a9e5-731e-40bc-a86d-4889b2d2bab1/the-polytopes-song The pictures and GIF animation are from Wikipedia articles. ========================================== This song is about regular polytopes in four dimensions. There are six of them in all, and they were first described by the Swiss mathematician Ludwig Schläfli in the mid-19th century, though only later did he figure out all of them. In a regular polytope, all cells are Platonic solids, they are all congruent, and each edge meets the same number of cells, giving each vertex the shape of a Platonic solid. Though the eye cannot see in four dimensions, there are many ways for a human to understand the polytopes, such as Schlegel diagrams or mathematical coordinates.
