He realized that he didn't have enough time since it was only a week away, when his best friend Tom Ato introduced him to a hyperbolic time chamber, where one year in there was a day in the outside world, meaning that instead of having 7 days to train, he'd have 7 years. However, on his way out, Tom shattered the door to exit the time chamber, trapping Larry in a desperate attempt to steal Larry's girl. After a year in the time chamber (the next day outside), Larry broke out, but before he could get his revenge on Tom, Zeno erased the universe along with universes 14-18 in a fit of rage. Using his Multiversal Instant Transmission technique that he developed in the time chamber, Larry teleported to Universe 6 before his universe was erased. After arriving in Universe 6, he vowed to use his training to try to kill Zeno and avenge the people of his universe, traveling across the multiverse in order to do so.
