I think that most Paper hate comes from the majority of the fandom not acknowledging his screen time before ii18. Especially when people say that PayJay was forced or came out of nowhere. Like, did y’all forget that they had an alliance together back in s1??? and became best friends?? Or when people call Paper’s disdain towards Poppy an act of mischaracterization, even though it is clearly justified. Paper was scared of Steve Cobs, especially after losing OJ in ii16, so it makes sense that he would be paranoid around someone with a relation to Cobs.
