Step by step (kinda ^^") I'll put more details for each below 1. Start w/ reference For any complicated poses I usually use refs off Pintrest. And I get a rough pose from it Just a reminder: there's NOTHING wrong w/ using a reference. But you cant just straight up trace it :) 2. Rough outline This is what I use for the actual drawing :) 3. More details I start with the rough draft, but no details for clothes or anything 4. Detailss Here i add clothes, hair, and little details! 5. ... I clean up the details so i know what im doing for the outline 6. Outline I get the outline done, I personally use a very fine brush bc I like the fineline with a very messy look 7. Base color I add the base color, and any details 8. Layers You can do the base color however you want, I switch around between it all being on one layer, and it being on separate layers 9-11. Base shading For base shading I take the base color and darken and make it more saturated. Giving it depth 12-15. Overlay To give it the effect I make sure all layers are in a folder, and i clip a new layer onto the folder. Using dark purple and setting the layer to overlay 16-17. Overall shading I do this to help the overall cohesion. Using a purple darker than the overlay purple, I add a normal layer under the overlay 18. Shading I use a kinda chunky shading for it. Just getting where it would be darkest. 19. Add overlay layer This is going to be for lighting, you NEED it to be a separate layer, or it wont look right. 20-21. Natural light I always add 2 different colors for lighting. Starting with a Natural color, normally a very light yellow, its especially important for hair. 22-24. Purple You can do this on the same layer as yellow or a different layer :) using a very bright saturated purple, hit the edges, hair, and anywhere that looks right. 25. Watermark I use purple most the time, and use either an overlay layer or a hard light layer for it. Making it stand out enough, but blending nicely 26. Bg Add your bg, (im to lazy to do a real one today) and add a dark shadow, I normally use the smudge tool to blend it in 27. Done! Hopefully this makes sense, if you have questions ill try to answer them the best I can :) Scratch ruined the quality again :') but im posting it on yt aswell, but with a voice over! (Probably lol) This pose was incredibly difficult ^^" but a lot of fun
